I listened to all those verses and none of them are as good as his verse on Forever :coffee:

@classtheking
I know, I loved his style on those, but dont worry he will have songs like that again.
He usually raps in the tone of the beat so it depends who gives him his next beat.
I love bein hated, it's great
It let's me know that I made it
I wouldn't have it no other way

You need help buddy.

I'm starting to think that Em's forever verse is one of the most overated of all time.

Plus...

Just the style of the track. His flow was so smooth the whole time, it wasn't this stop and go flow he uses now that's hard to listen to. Also his delivery was perfect, probably the best of his career. I hate how he tries to sound so angry now, it just sounds stale. Also IMO the rhymes are much much better. From what I remember from Recovery he was using some pretty bad rhymes. Like Ain't the first day o' and thank ya for stayin might be 4 or 5 syllables but imo that's a weak rhyme. It doesn't sound good. His rhymes used to stand out more and it makes the song sound better like that then having to look for his rhymes.

Fair point... I agree. Though the 4th verse of Going Through Changes & pretty much every verse of LTWYL & most of On Fire are just as smooth-sounding as well. I'm really surprised that you, being a fan of SSLP, didn't like On Fire.

I too liked the delivery of The Warning and thought a lot of Recovery was forced emotion. I was loving the shit out of The Warning when it first came out. I maintain the flow and delivery is superb.

While I agree that Eminem is flowing better on The Warning and he SOUNDS more like he did in his prime than many tracks on Recovery, he is not writing like he did in his prime. His rhyming on The Warning was simple for his standards. Girly, surely, early. Ugly, fuck me, lucky. Oh gee, is that supposed to be ME in a goatee? A lot of Recovery's rhyming blows this away (missed a pass and I went long/kiss my ass in a lint thong). That's not to say Em doesn't really turn the multis up towards the end of The Warning (he does)...

It seemed like a throw-away verse he wrote in between writing Recovery.

While at some points on Recovery the rhyming might have been better I think the majority of it was pretty weak. And I'll listen to On Fire and Going Through Changes again and see what I think.

Going Through Changes was a good song but I wasn't feeling On Fire.
