So yesterday was San Juan in Spain. A day which we celebrate with bonfires, fireworks and parties. It's one of those days which you really look forward to since you have so much fun. I love throwing the bangers and going out, it's great. Well yesterday or really, last night, I went to Castelldefels beach near Barcelona where loads and loads of people go to celebrate San Juan on the beach. I passed the train station at about 11:15 and over 1 hour later I found out that there had been an accident only 15 minutes later. About 30 people were ran over by a train as they were crossing the railway to the other side. 12 of them died and 14 are injured. Damn! I carried on having fun during the night after that but I kept on thinking about it. How close everyone in the beach were yet they were still all celebrating. And how close I was to see such a terrible thing happen. I met a guy later on who was acting rather odd. He was just staring blankly at a bonfire shirtless and talking to himself. I was told by some and later him that he had witnessed the accident and saw people die in a horrible way. He was going through post-traumatic shock I guess. I really felt for him, and for those in the accident and for their families and loved ones. I can't believe myself that I was so close to experience it, would have been terrible for me. I just felt like telling this really since it's something that has happened so close to me...
