It's also great for Em, as I think Em will see what Kanye does and feed off that ambition to get even higher himself.
That's the thing tho, Kanye wants to get bigger & bigger (fame) Em just wants to be respected & admired again.
That's clearly not the case.
The fact Kanye did 808s right after Graduation. Right after a seminal third album, at a crucial point in his career; this shows that he's absolutely just focused on artistic satisfaction.
Whether you like 808s or not, is not the point. Whether you think auto-tune is corny or it was a masterpiece or a piece of shit - the point is, he took a left turn because HE wanted to, taking a huge risk at the most comfortable point in his existence. Also, with this latest album - it's clear already all he is interested in is setting new standards. He's pushing himself or trying to, out of his comfort zone. He's trying to be innovative, there's so many easier routes he could take if fame was the goal.
That is absolutely not a man who is just concerned with fame. He clearly tries to push himself creatively, to try new challenges and raise the bar. Every single time. As for his ego - Again, this is a creative ego. He obviously is not just worried about having his face in the paper, he is however thinking and attempting to be a bigger and better artist. But the difference is, the former is shallow and embarrassing where as the latter is noble and respectable.
