Well people who were into hip-hop knew his name.

He already had everyone from LL Cool J to Mos Def to Busta Rhymes singing his praises before his debut hit. And they're not an easy crowd to please. Especially because he's white, Mos Def is almost an extreme blacktivist lmao so if he's giving Em props it means something.

Hip hop artists sell more than pop artists in general, that's a fact you can verify via soundscan. Although POP music is supposed to be popular, hip hop music is commercially more successful, crossing over everywhere. It's pretty common for a hip hop song to chart high on CHR/POP, Rhythmic and Urban stations at the same time, whereas pop artists like Britney are usually successful only within their pop fanbase. You can't expect many hip hop heads or rock fans to purchase Britney but there's a high chance a Britney fan will like Eminem. That's why artists like Kanye, Lil Wayne, Jay-z, T.I. and also Eminem sell more than most of the pop stars. 50 Cent, Nelly or Outkast used to sell more than most of the biggest pop stars too. And since Eminem is the best selling artist of the decade, it's clear who's bigger IMO.

He just dropped an album like 6 weeks ago,thats why he has two singles in top 20,and his airplay is almost as close to Gagas while her album was released like 2 years ago,and then re-released year ago .NA has more likes cause there wasnt that option when BR dropped.And LTWYL wont be the most viewed video,it wont surpass BR,wanna bet on that?And you must be retarded if you think he`ll gain Facebook fans at this rate,the only reason he gained them is cause of Recovery and LTWYL,hype will die soon and he wont pass 15 mil,while Gagas new album will only bring her more love.Oh and you do know that The Fame is is among top 10 albums for 92 weeks,lets see how long will Recovery last
