Just got a PS3 and...

Need to know good games to get. Or that you'd definitely recommend.

Madden 11 came with and plan on gettin' Red Dead Redemption hopefully today or tomorrow. Aside from those need some recommendations.

And try not to list FPS games as I cant stand to play those on anything besides a PC. Besides I have MW2 and BF:BC2 already.

Avoid "Fracture" and "Condemned 2: Bloodshot" unless you find it for like 5 bucks or so.
Little Big Planet gets repetitive, but it's okay if you like borrow from a friend.

If you're into skating you'd definitely enjoy the entire Skate series
Red Dead Redemption is crazy good, have fun with that
Final Fantasy 13 if you're into that

MGS4 for sure. I also love the Tiger Woods games. Check out Skate 3 if you haven't played any of them. Killzone is pretty cool for a while. Just Cause 2 is fucking insane. Assassin's Creed, Mirror's Edge, Guitar Hero, MLB: The Show. Portal. LittleBigPlanet.

High Velocity Bowling and Pain are fun mini games.

epic doesnt even describe those games they are unbelievably good...they fully show off the capabilities of the ps3, infact the 360 is incapable of running those games, for that reason alone you should buy them

Besides MGS 4, God of War 3, GTA 4, Uncharted and Red Dead which have already been mentioned and any PS3 owner shouldn't do without, I'd also recommend:
Ratchet & Clank series
InFamous
Prototype
Assassins Creed

It's a shame you can't grasp using a controller for FPS, Bioshock & Fallout are awesome but I guess you can play them on a pc too.
