How so? I keep hearing this...she has an unremarkable voice, typical female dancer...nothing really meaningful about her songs. She is famous because she decided to be weirder than anyone thought possible.

I don't deny anything about her style as it's a big gimmick & I don't like it too but she definitely can sing & can write melody that stuck in your head. I don't see how people can say she's untalented, she sings, writes, performs without lip-syncing (and her performances are always entertaining at least), isn't that like a perfect combo for a pop-star?
