Obie - Well, Marshall, Chi?, Trying to put out his album, you

Songs such as Beautiful and Careful What you wish for were they intended for that album?

I enjoyed both those tracks some people here say that My Darling was also recorded in around 2007?(I really love that track)

So having said is it possible those tracks are from the rumored album?
If they were seems like a pretty good album was in the making?

Yeah that's the material he scrapped, then he made Relapse.

Annoying we'll never get to hear that stuff though. Because I think that he's become obsessed so much with presentation that his ideas have suffered.

Like, if you take "My Darling", from that batch. Now, yes his rhymes are sluggish etc. as I'm sure most of that material was but the idea is very strong. And the reason his early material was so mind-blowing aside from the excellent execution was mainly, his ideas.

Because, if you actually re-listen to MMLP... Yeah the flows are great but they're actually much more pedestrian in comparison to his more recent flows. Because I think he was more focused on strong ideas. Seems now like he's just concerned with rapping brilliantly, I wish he'd put more effort into ideas.

There is a good reason why Eminem didnt put it out, it sucked big time.
He put out Relapse because it was somewhat better than the rest of the crap he recorded.

no apologies was written wayy back so I don't count it
the rest you mentioned are all average to bad to me. I did like My Darling when I first heard it but other than the concept that track got nothing else to offer so it got old fast.

I'm glad it never came out.

Bar My Darling (for it's concept), everything around that time was awful.

Admittely, I used to love CWYWF but it's so boring now. Boring rhymes, boring delivery, just a yawn-fest of a song.

I doubt it.

Encore was mixed because he was half-loopy / half-serious. The album is more like a display of a bi-polar polarization on record.

But, his 06/07 stuff sounded dark and depressive. And angry. Like if you listen to his verses on The Re-Up, he's screaming about not getting enough respect etc. and if you listen to that song he did "I Can Be" where he's on the hook. And "My Darling" and CWYF in particular.

Also "Pistol Popping"...

And even "Public Enemy #1" (which is fucking awesome). Like, as sluggish as the lyricism may of been on that batch / album which he scrapped, I still wish he had released it. I think it would of been a lot of paranoia, self-loathing and insane rants. But what truly great, exciting art is sober, humble etc.

Reason MMLP was so thrilling was he was a total worldwide antagonist. He assumed the entire world were lsitening (which they were) and embraced all accusations and slander, made it his reality. And it was also significant because of the timing, he totally adsorbed what was happening to him publicly and turned it into art.

So as bad lyrically or musically King Mathers could of been, I think it was probably a fucked up, depressive display of a full-blown addict. I mean just listen to "My Darling". I think it would of ended up a fascinating listen purely for that reason, and I'm sad I won't ever hear it.

I wish we coulda heard this album. Great title. I like Beautiful, My Darling, and CWYWF, so hearing a bunch of those style songs wouldn't have been a problem for me

He should put King Mathers out as his last album, just have new material though

It would've been awful. Probably songs like My 1st Single, Fack, Touchdown, etc. Either that or he hired ghost writers on the album which Em would never do.

I very much doubt he'd of had goofy songs like that on there.

Encore was the start of his true addiction, he said he felt loopy.

But 2007 was more like the height of it, he was dark, mean and depressive. Have you even heard CWYWF or his verses on The Re-Up.

Very likely would of been a dark fucked up album with a lot of self-loathing, anger, misguided blame and gloomy Em beats. Aka hip-hop heaven.

Of course
When the rumors of King Mathers first started, I was excited as hell for it. I was hoping there would be a whole lot of No Apologies-type shit. I don't know if it would have sucked or not, and at the time I didn't care. Now that I look back, though, it would have been Encore Part 2

I hope his last album is going to have the King Mathers title, yes. Not the music, just the name
