Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns (Your opinions)

Postby dR3 » Sep 8th, '10, 01:17

I liked a few of the songs, but I must say, this was disappointing. They just don't sound like the real LP anymore, it's like they are some other band.

Oh dear lord, this is worse than I expected. After listening to the entire album...

Like, words cannot fully explain how destroyed I am. I feel like stabbing someone, ripping someones eyeballs out, throwing a baby out a window. That was horrid in every way possible. I can't believe how it's possible for such a good band to make such a bad CD, seriously. Burning In The Skies and The Catalyst are literally the ONLY songs I think are decent. Half of the CD was pointless skits/interludes, a complete waste of time. Maybe I'll have a different opinion later, which I doubt, but is possible.

So it resembles Meteora in no way shape or form?

Damn it.

I really liked it. Its not like any of their previous shit, but I really enjoyed it. I felt its like a mash of many genres, instead of just merging rap and rock like they did previously, which I surprisingly really liked.

But then again I enjoy music by The Postal Service so I guess am on a different level taste-wise than most of you here on an Eminem forum.

I like The Catalyst. Might even make me check out the album. I'm not usually into their stuff, though, so that sound might not work for their long-time fans.

Check Meteora if you're not well in touch with their previous work. It's like their TES, imo.

Okay, it's been a while since its release and I've been able to make a fully informed decision. I still dislike the album. Only 4 listenable tracks for me -

3. Burning In The Skies
8. Waiting For The End
9. Blackout
14. The Catalyst

I really disliked the style used on this album, and I was hoping for something extremely great. I was let down but boo woo oh well. I'll just keep bumping their older music. :sweating:

And @ Robbie, Hybrid is their MMLP for me. So still pretty in high regards, and almost as good as Meteora.
