i mean, i know his performance is gonna be something unique and huge. seeing as how mtv went and made a tv spot for it, if it were just a performance they would have just included his name in the roster of artists set to perform on the commercials.

another indicator of how epic his performance will be, is how Mtv goes out of there way to say its the show starter, when does mtv brag about its opening show? exactly, so i know its gonna be something special

Well, the actual show starts at 9, so I'm guessing his performance will start around then. I doubt the pre-show will lag beyond that. And when it does, Mtv usually cuts away to the main show.
