I guess so, I didn't really know too much about Eminem at the time except for the fact that he's white and he has a daughter. My initial reaction to hearing The Real Slim Shady was "Damn, this dude is really going against the grain, he really must hate a lot of people. I would hate to piss him off." Lol.

I knew of him since age 8 all the way through, but it was only in 2004 around the time Encore was about to be released that i properly got into him. But then again, i didn't even start properly listening to music until around that age in the first place.

I didn't really become a fan until 2006. I had heard of him around '00 and liked a some songs(TRSS, without me, mosh, cleaning out my closet, like toy soldiers, etc.) and found him an...interesting character, but I wasn't really into rap music or any music really at all. Around '06 my music tastes changed, I heard You Don't Know, liked it, downloaded all his albums and became an instant fan.

Forgot About Dre in late 1999 when i first heard it on the radio. Bought Dr Dre 2001 a few weeks later.

I knew of him since '99, but I didn't become a hardcore fan until 2002, when I was 11-12. I remember watching him and Chris Rock on 106 & Park and I kept thinking to myself how cute and funny he was. The way he kept flirting with Free was just .
Then I kept watching all of his interviews because he was all over MTV and BET during that time, and I just fell in lust. He was my first celebrity crush . I went from fangirl to legitimate fan after I bought the Eminem Show, then the MMLP and the SSLP a few weeks after. That was a really shitty time in my life and his music really helped me get through it.
