Girl at my school said that. He's classed together with Adam Lambert :facepalm

What's wrong with people enjoying different genres of music? I like one of Adam Lambert's songs. I'm also a fan of Nirvana, Public Enemy, Brittany Spears, Tupac, Melissa Etheridge, and Black Sabbath. I have different tastes, it just means I'm not one-dimensional or close-minded. Me enjoying certain pop music as well as Eminem doesn't take away his authenticity as an artist nor does it make him a sell-out. It means that his music and lyrics are so powerful that it's able to reach a wide audience.

Exactly! :y:

Naa.. I think he is referring to the stupid ass girls who only listen to Eminem's "pop" songs or songs like LTWYL. Saying they love Eminem but probably couldn't tell you names of any of his songs not played on radio. The dumb bandwagon jumpin people. At least that's what I'm getting out of it.

With that said though.. I still wouldn't blame Em or say it's his fault in any way. It's just the dumb bitches who do it or are like that. He really doesn't control that aspect of it.

I know i'm a bit late on the thread but i'm new so i looked over them and found this one :)
I agree with Kez for most part.He could have found a better singer for the chorus,Rhianna is just awful live. Also i agree that LTWL in particular was meant as a popular/mainstream song.Just last week a friend told me she heard LTWL and loved it.Also mentioned what other songs she likes of him which offcourse were Beautiful,When i'm gone,Cleaning out my closet or even The way i am,but also said she hates his funny or violent songs(which represent ehmmm 70% of his albums?lol).I'm guessing she isn't the only one to think like that, most of these occasional fans think that way. Also she stated(and i quote)"i don't like him cause he tryes too much to look like a black guy" :o ,at which point i was fuck this, let's not talk about Eminem anymore :facepalm
I don't agree with the lazy lyrics part, but that's just me.I like the lyrics, the concept, but Love you more is way more better :smoking:
To answer the topic question,i do think that till some point old Em would kick new Em's ass :8) .Tho i understand why the change of style with everything that has been going thru his life,i know he can do better. What i do not like about Recovery is that he apologises too much, therefor the Eminem who made No Apologies would whoop his ass.Other then that i like most of Recovery :smoking:

No, it doesn't prove your point.

Your point is that Eminem has sold out because Demographic X now likes him.

He can't control who likes him.

Yes he can, don't make music that demographic x would like

This is silly.

You're even MORE of a sell-out when you consciously try to make certain demographics dislike your music. That's diluting your artistic voice.

"Okay, the Glee kids absolutely CANNOT like this song... hmm... how do I flip this?" This isn't a guy making shit that he likes first and foremost, this is a guy making shit for OTHER people.

No lol, you're wrong. I'm not saying that. An artist should always make the music for them, that's what's most important. From 1997-2003 Eminem was making music for himself. True, amazing Hip-Hop that everyone fell in love with. He stood up for what he believed in and dissed the fake poppy gimmicks at the time. Now he works with them. He's still making music for himself but it's what teenage girls and any joe schmo will like. That's why he sold out.

So every single rapper has sold out? Because almost every single rapper has done a song with a pop artists/R&B artists?

What? :confusion:

And Tech N9ne is possibly making a song with Wayne. Is he a sell-out after it's released in your eyes?

Nah man, Tech is a beast and will never stoop to that level of music. He'll rape Lil Wayne 10x over on that track.
