It's only selling out if they switch to the style of said pop star. I have no problem with keeping your own underground style and raping the other rapper.
You think your personal attacks make up for what you lack?

Maybe, but you can look at it this way too, what would the New Eminem say if the old Em walked up to him.........Probably summin like "Get away from me you fuckin drug addict", lol

We all change, If I saw the 2002 version of myself I would probably cross the street to avoid him, lol

Soon enough I'll have more "remember the time when..." stories. I'm only 15 so I'm ready for the crazy shit...to then wait years later to regret it :D

This is silly.

You're even MORE of a sell-out when you consciously try to make certain demographics dislike your music. That's diluting your artistic voice.

"Okay, the Glee kids absolutely CANNOT like this song... hmm... how do I flip this?" This isn't a guy making shit that he likes first and foremost, this is a guy making shit for OTHER people.

No lol, you're wrong. I'm not saying that. An artist should always make the music for them, that's what's most important. From 1997-2003 Eminem was making music for himself. True, amazing Hip-Hop that everyone fell in love with. He stood up for what he believed in and dissed the fake poppy gimmicks at the time. Now he works with them. He's still making music for himself but it's what teenage girls and any joe schmo will like. That's why he sold out.

Yeah, waking up after 5 years in a drug coma had nothing to do with that. He tried to stay controversial on Relapse and failed...the world and music scene is far different now than it was in 2002. He's a different person. That isn't selling out really, he had no control over that. He got older and got sober. Slim Shady died.

Besides, he has no reason to diss the fuck out of every pop artist now. Back in the early part of his career people said he was a 'product of the pop machine ' like he was N*Sync. So he had to separate himself from that. Now, he's respected, he sold more than anyone in a decade where he was only active about half the time. No one is saying he's a bubble gum act anymore.

EDIT: Well, I shouldn't say "no one". Never underestimate the camp of unbelievable fucking idiots that have and always will exist.
