Were "the accents" really used THAT much?

Take Relapse. Now, the main complaint was that the 'accents' was used too much.

How many times did he really alter his voice. I'd say:

-3AM
-Stay Wide Awake
-Bagpipes From Baghdad
-Old Times Sake
-We Made You
-1/3 of Hello
-2/3 of Same Song & Dance

That's 6 whole songs out of sixteen. It's really not that much.

Just interesting that it's brought up some much when it's on about a third of the album.

EDIT: I'm just talking verses. He uses accents on the My Mom and MBTG chorus'.

There is no accent in MBTG.

And I was talking about verses. Just edited that into the OP.

Well yeah, no accent > accent., of course.

But the things that annoy me on Recovery (punchlines, stop and go flow) annoy me more than the things on Relapse (accent and forced rhyming)

recovery is a way better album
but relapse was mixed alot better recovery
relapse production was dope

The accents were used in every song except the third verse of my mom, beautiful and underground. Even Deja vu sounds like he's using an accent

No it doesn't. His voice is just more upbeat (not an accent)...withdrawn from the dark images he's portraying. He's analyzing the events he's describing without from being "in them", which is the difference between that and GTC I'd say. The exception being the emotional chorus.

Like everyone else say, i can hear the accent in almost every song.
I don't mind the accent, what annoys me more about relapse is the content.

I still think the outlash of the fans bitching about the accent/Relapse made Em dumb it down & be less creative on Recovery & probably for the future of his career.
