Firstly, I'm not comparing the two albums because it is Eminem and Lil Wayne, I am comparing them for their exceptional comercial success.

Secondly, what other rap album in the last few years could you compare to Eminems sales?

As time goes on, album sales have been decreasing at around the rate of 14% per year since around 2000, so it is only logical to compare sales between albums within a reasonable time frame.

Here is the difference (disregarding the massive disparity in talent and good content between the two).

Lil Wayne always had some fucking feature, single, EP, or LP out. Not even going to jail prevents him from having some random verse on some shitty other rapper's song, or putting out some thrown together album. It's the "shove my name down the public's throat" approach.

Eminem rarely puts out anything. One verse is a big deal for him--an album absolutely overruns pop culture. And despite people forgetting about him, no news coming out for weeks, months, years...he remains a gigantic presence in music.
