I didn't realize you knew him in reality. :-k

You don't need to know him. Listen to Soldier and then listen to Almost Famous and tell me which one sounds real and which one sounds fake

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Em show is the best album ever right bro?

His screaming out that record sound better than the screaming on Recovery... right bro?

I mean, that was real passion when he rapped about pistol whipping that bouncer. Real anger.

Perhaps, you could argue that he is on an upward slope right now. Because Recovery is eons ahead of Relapse, musically, so, yeah, he might be rising again. If he'll ever hit the same point as his prime? Or if he'll ever manage to surpass it? Time will tell..

im not attackin u or nothn but i didnt think u wud be so fickle...Derdy's sig reminded me of wha Copywrite wrote on his twitter nd it made me appreciate recovery...he said something like Em raised the bar so far that not even he cud beat it but that dosent mean he fell off...nd that someone who never changes their style is someone who fell off

how does changing musically = falling off?

If you pass your prime, you fall off. You should see it as a graph, he started at an upward slope, hit his prime, and after that the downward slope hits. Falling off doesn't mean you're bad, but it is as Copy said, he raised the bar so high with his previous work that he can't top it, which means he fell off. If you can't come on the same level as before, you've fallen off. And him changing musically doesn't necessarily equal falling off, however, if the change of music isn't on the same level as his previous style of music, then, yes, we can come to the conclussion that he has fallen off.

lol u just described some of the best emcees to ever do it........if u think like that

Haha, that's probably 'cause a lot of the emcees that are considered to be the best who ever done it, are past their prime now. Nas, Jay-Z, Rakim... To name a few. They all fell off.

But, to add to that, I think the emcee that fell off the least, as in, the one emcee who had/has a downward slope that isn't that low, is Nas. Of course, it might be just my opinion, but Nas is still around his prime, nearest of them all. Jay-Z fell off the most. Eminem and Rakim are on a equal note, but Eminem is probably heading upwards again.

Well maybe he wanted something else this time, even Paul admited Recovery was more for the masses appeal. But he did proved he can still go hard with Despicable.Tho when it leaked i did thought of another type of album, but i still like both Recovery and MM4. :8)

Despicable wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. The things is, is that people here are saying if he wants to he can make really good music. Which leads to the logical conclusion of him not wanting to make good music. So, he isn't as good as he used to be. They are saying it themselves, how can a rapper refuse to make good music? Only if he sells out, right? Now, I'm not claiming he did sell out, but you all should stop saying he can make good music if he wants to he just aint feeling like it. That's stupid.

And, yes, to me, good music equals lyrically good. Not DZK lyrically, but musically lyrically. How it should be.

And Eminem did sound like he was forcing his scream-type-of-delivery on Recovery.

I didn't said he wants to make bad music, that's stupid indeed.Look at all those people bashing Relapse, even himself. But i feel like he shouldn't have to apologize for something he felt like doing back then, just like he shouldn't be sorry for Recovery or any other album.Different times/feelings/attitude.Listening to Despicable it does make me think of TES and makes me believe he is rising again, maybe not on TES level but close...But that only time will tell, hopefully he will gain that confident side back, get some dope beats and have some good collabs & don't mean Drake/Kanye/Weezy. :coffee:

If there is one thing I learned it's that Zu always wins.

And I don't think Rakim has fallen off at all, if anything he's gotten better. The Seventh Seal > Paid In Full

Yeah he does :smoking: , and I would argue other haven't fallen off, people just take different directions as they age, and then it all comes back to opinions anyway :y:

FACT :
Eminem has been in his prime, then fell off. :n:

Joe Budden has been in his prime for 7 years now. :y:

Any NORMAL person should be able to comprehend that the 2010 Budden is WAY better than the 2010 Eminem.

Also @Zu, I actually don't think Nas has fell off at all.
Well,Street's Disciple and Hip Hop Is Dead were not AS good as Illmatic,It Was Written or Stillmatic, but they were still great.
But then he dropped Untitled, which for me is one of the best concept albums in the last 10 years.
And he keeps getting better and better...

I'd agree with this.

The thing with Nas is, even if he has a bad album he follows it up with a great one. There's no downward spiral.

He follows 'Nastradumas' with fucking 'Stillmatic'. Follows 'Streets Disciple' with 'Hip Hop Is Dead' (I've criticised this album before but just listening through it lately, it's a great album).

And Distant Relatives is a fucking immense album. Dude's nearly 20 years into his career and he sounds so hungry on that album it's ridiculous. It's his best album since It Was Written, in my opinion.

Agreed. He seems to be fluctuating around his prime through out his whole career. Granted, I think when he recorded Illmatic and It Was Written he was at his prime, however, the material he is putting out now is still good. Distant Relatives is one if his best projects. And, like you said, he's almost 20 years into his career. Nas has a respectable position, he'll always be my number 1 favorite emcee.
