My logic was that unless you resemble the KEY features which separate FAN from STAN, which are the point of the entire song, then you are not a Stan.

Eminem wasn't saying anybody who knows all of his songs is a Stan, or that anybody who fucking likes him is a Stan lmao. I could just as easily say "using your logic anybody who loves Eminem's music is a Stan"? Both extremes are retarded.

Point is, unless you follow and love Eminem for reasons other than his art. You can't be a Stan. You can't claim somebody is a Stan just because they like his music.

Or even love and follow his music. That is totally normal and healthy and millions of people do it with Eminem and MANY others. And not just music artists, also authors and film-makers, that doesn't make you a Stan, that's being a FAAAAANNNNN.

It wasn't died like Eminem's.

He didn't invent dying your hair. Many people did it before and after (unrelated) to him you know lmao. At that time, I was living in a shared student house and had somewhat of a psycho-friend, 37 - And we both died our hair for a laugh - Nothing to do with Eminem. I was also doing a lot of acid at the time, so it fit in with how I was feeling - Zany etc.

I was also... 18, at that time Eminem hadn't even begun his comeback and I wasn't listening to his music as I was living in a shitty attic room with no media or anything. If I was going to dye my hair like Eminem, don't you think it would be when I was 10, in the year 2000 lmao. Not 8 years later.

Well, I don't fully agree with number 2. I mean...if it's illogical defending like, "Eminem had one of his best verses on Touchdown" or some shit like that, then yeah I agree. But for the most part, I usually defend Eminem and his work whenever a debate ensues.

Granted, I never start those debates, it's only when people say how Eminem is 'shit' for reasons like his skin colour...

I didn't mean to defend him in a logical debate. If somebody says "Eminem is only big because he's white", doesn't make you a Stan to defend him lmao. Because you're arguing on the side of rationality, not for the sake of Eminem, in all actuality.

I don't like to tell my friends or people I talk about hip hop with. It's pretty much instant disregard of my opinion if I say he's my favorite because any white kid is going to love Eminem even if they don't know shit about rap. With my friends I just don't want them to know I've belonged to Em forums. Kinda gay.

I don't really like to talk about hip hop to all of my friends either. They're all metal heads anyway, which is fine by me, I like other music than just rap. They used to hate Eminem, but now they don't have a problem with him, as long as I don't play him everytime. The one that hated him the most told me back when Relapse was still fresh that Eminem was really dope and real, but he just didn't like his voice (especially the accents, he despised 'em lol) and his image, I guess that's what you could say. But he likes the Recovery shit, which is ironic

Anyway, I don't really consider myself an actual REAL Stan. Like the one in the song "Stan", I am nothing like that. I listen to Eminem more than I listen to anyone else, he's my favorite rapper and artist, but I'm not in love with him like "Stan" was. If I met Em, I'd chill with him and shit and be cool, I wouldn't be all "OMG EMINEMZ LULZ OMFG". But I mean, I'm still kind of a Stan, I like generally his whole catalogue, even like half of Encore I can find myself to enjoy
