@Slim's Shady

I feel like I'm walking a tight rope, without a circus net
I'm popping percocets, I'm a nervous wreck
I deserve respect; but I work a sweat for this worthless check
Bout to burst this tech, at somebody to reverse this debt

Nothing on SWA tops that. Think otherwise? Please do share. Those four lines are incredible. He has four syllable internal rhyming going on there.

So blatantly but silently cause I know that she's sound asleep,
Who's waking me so violently and why is he on top of me,
He's raping me she trys to scream somebody please get him off me,
He's taping me, he's biting me he's laughing like it's funny,
She's scraping me she's fighting me she's scratching like some dumb freak,
Escaping me no dice ya see I might just be Ted Bundy
Or satan gee what a sight to see I'm dancing in my red panties,
I'm crazy but it's alright with me, man life can be so empty,
Stay away from me cause I'm dancing to quite a different drum beat,

No they don't. But, anyways that doesn't top those lines from Rock Bottom but...

Better try to stay wide awake or you might be found dead by the lake,
Soon as you lay me down to sleep bitch your soul I'm a try to take,
Pray for light today right away why do they try to fight today,
I must make them pay twice as much might as well put the knife away,
Now I use power tools how 'bout now while you in the shower,
Scour you for six hours 'till outage your power outlets,
How did ya figure out I was down in your basement now ya,
Must of just heard the sound of my stomach growlin' from down there,
Power there's no one fowler bound ya that's how they found ya,
Face down in the tub I drown ya with piles of downers around ya,
Such nostalgia and power such prowess look how you cower,
Jumped out on you now like I was a Jawa from fuckin' star wars,
Jabba the Hut be di bye bye, be di bye bye it's time to die die,
Ought to not even bother to scream it don't even matter,
Amazing when grazing skin with these razor blades he waves at ya,
Not your everyday Damien bath me in holy water,
Melting like Son of Sam so please understand there's no gun in hand,
Where's the thrill in a hunt there's no fun in that here I come with axe,
Want 'ta I act like lumberjack when I'm hackin' him up with that,
What was that dial 911 someone's comin' in from the back,

^ Rhyming-wise is on par or maybe even past any Rock Bottom verse.

P.S. I'M NOT SAYING THIS SONG IS BETTER THAN ROCK BOTTOM :coffee:

No it's not lol, Rock Bottom's rhymes actually MEAN SOMETHING. That automatically makes them 10x better than anything on Stay Wide Awake. This is just random, nonsensical violence. He forces the rhymes so much it's not even funny too.

I've tried it once as well. It's a bit of a puzzle to make entire lines rhyme and tell a story at the same time.

On the subject... Rock Bottom >> Stay Wide Awake.

Spyder did it once but it was just ehhh

Solace did it once though and it was amazing, he never posted it though, just showed me on msn I think.

Slim's Shady wrote:Well of course Rock Bottom is the better song but rhyme-wise it's CLOSE to SWA but not quite past it. Song-wise Rock Bottom is better and preffered for me, never said it wasn't.

I was talking about rhyming.

Just because SWA has MORE multies than Rock Bottom in no way makes the rhyming better. The rhyming in SWA is good but becasue it's forced at times (with accents and a few stupid lines - "im dancing in my red panties" to name one) it effects other aspects of his lyricism.

Rock Bottom's rhyming is so good that it doesnt effect the song in any way. A lot of multies in SWA you think: "Okay, he could do have used another word that wouldnt rhyme but would make the song sound better". Rock Bottom doesnt need the vocab changed - as I said, it's like the rhyming happened on accident, it's so fitting. He's spitting 4-multie rhyming internally consistently in those first few bars.
