agreed that sometimes it's unnecessary but c'mon...
i think there're bigger things to worry about
yep like the Shouting,awkward walking on stage,collaborations,never smiling,corny punchlines,eye twitch,hair not being blonde,etc etc
mangomunky wrote:btw what do you mean there are bigger things to worry about, like what?

Fuck that shit, bitch, eat a motherfuckin' dick
Chew on a prick, and lick a million motherfuckin' cocks per second
I'd rather put out a motherfucking gospel record
I'd rather be a pussy-whipped bitch, eat pussy
And have pussy-lips glued to my face with a clit-ring in my nose

Did anyone complain about that too? It's clearly cursing for the sake of it from the beloved TES. Eminem always curses guys, it's not like it's something new.

Yes but preceding that was "if you ain't got nothing nice to say then don't say nothing..."
What people are saying is before he always justified his vulgarity with wit and irony. It was always heavily surrounded in character and for a reason (or mostly). Or at least heavily justified in the context and spaced out, for the sake of emphasis where nothing else would achieve it.
Where as a lot of it now is just for the sake of doing it because he wants to sound pissed off. That example you gave is not dissimilar to "I don't got that bad of a mouth do I?" followed by the rant of swearing. It's ironic, he's goading the listener.
There was a lot of swearing you could deem unnecessary on even the old shit though, on "Soldier" for example. And he always slightly ruined the last verse of "Sing for the Moment" for me, just because there was too many 'motherfuck's' in a short space of time, was overkill and unneeded.
But the fact of it is, if it's good it's good. The writing was so good then aside from it that it didn't matter, because everything surrounding it was so sublime. But now that he doesn't have close to that same level of edge or worldly commentary, it's emphasized and feels desperate.
I'm not advocating complaint of it by the way, it doesn't really bother me. Like I said, I find it funny he's going out of his way to make himself pissed off. But I can still see the reason(s) for the complaint very easily, so just laying out what could be the reasons for some.

So unless his mother is a symbol for critics, it was still unnecessary. He was not responding to anything from the public then and neither is he right now.

No I wasn't saying the context was the exact same. But that its irony was similar. I drew a comparison, I didn't just comment on one. I'm saying - the 'bad mouth' thing is similar to the "My Dad's Gone Crazy" example. He says "I don't got that bad of a mouth do I?" then follows it with a tirade of swearing. Ironic to the previous statement.
Then, with the "My Dad's Gone Crazy" example - He says (as his mother) "If you ain't got nothing nice to say then don't say nothing" then says a tirade of bad things (opposite of nice things). Thus, it's an ironic flip-side to the previous line in the same vein.
So it wasn't unnecessary, it was necessary for that same line of comedic response.

Oh well, I guess he's lost his some of his sense of humor then.
