Exactly, there's a good example of where Eminem is swearing for an actual reason and not just for the sake of it. MMLP is full of that. It's completely different these days. Uninspired routine "I have to say some offensive words just because" blah.

Exactly that. His swearing doesn't seem to have as much of a purpose lately. It's downright annoying at times on Recovery. ("Cold Wind Blows" and "Won't Back Down" are the main examples, along with "Roman's Revenge" and "All She Wrote") He used to swear for a reason, now it's more of a nervous tic. He's gone from the master of profanity to the white kid who doesn't know how to curse but thinks it's cool. I'm CERTAINLY not one bothered by profanity, but at times it feels like he's using it as a substitute for creativity. That's another thing that's so great about "I Need a Doctor" (which damn well better be on Em's rumored Recovery re-release or Detox) -- he doesn't swear much on it and when he does, it's actually for a purpose.
