One of the better songs on Recovery, definitely. It will be a big mistake if they don't make it a single as it has obvious no. 1 potential (No Love hasn't done that well so they need something big now).

As a love song it is great and something different, as a disguised song about drugs it is even better.

I wouldn't say it's under-rated.

I remember when Recovery leaked, everybody on RB was fucking each other in the ass over it. It's easily one of my favourites from the album too.

It's a step into new territory too IMO. He's never really written like that before when you think about it, with that style of writing / kind of phrasing...

"We touch / I feel a rush / we clutch / it isn't much but it's enough..."

Yet he pulls off new technique so naturally, it feels like you've heard it before. Like you're accustomed to it, because it's so natural. It's also very mature and poetic. But he also avoids sounding pretentious and like always perfectly merges his personality and whole "self" into it.

It's like, imagine back in 99' seeing lyrics written like that and somebody saying they were Em's. I know that we know he's always been capable of rapping like that anyway (cite: "Searchin", Infinite), but I don't think anybdoy would believe those lines were from the same rapper.

But coupled with being poetic and mature, it still feels edgy and he balanced the anger etc. just right (in that song). Just like he did with "Cinderella Man". I think "Space Bound", "25 to Life" and "Cinderella Man" all have similar writing - It's also very consistent, not at all cheesy and easily some of the best writing since his return.

I think this song and those will only garner more and more recognition with time. Once the smoke and mirrors and expectations etc. of this current period in his career fade, these songs will be remembered more objectively for what they are. They're very solid and I think can comfortably sit amongt classic Eminem tracks.

They're too different to be compared. The writing is just... a different mindset. And I'm not saying they're as creative or even as good but they're very solid and, I think can at least sit among some of his top tracks. And in a way (though it may just be the freshness) - I kind of prefer them to a lot of his old shit now. It just feels... More direct, like there's less-front, and more... Adult and... Snappy. Don't know, can't explain what I mean exactly but, great song(s).

Who actually cares if it is overrated? It doesn't make the song less good in any way.

Never liked it like some other people but I still like the song a lot. But I haven't listened to it in a while so I'll listen to it again later and edit my post on my thoughts of it as of today :y:

Why do people care about a song being over/underrated? If you really like it, jam to it. If not, don't bother listening. Other people's opinions shouldn't come into effect.
