I may be in the minority on this board but I don't like them tracks with royce, HONESTLY Em is not very good at making that kind of tracks anymore (random lines with no real subject), they're very boring and I don't care for them at all, his strength right now is making tracks with stories & emotions. Not to mention it will be a failure in term of commercial success for sure. But I know lots of you guys love royce & em though so I want them to leak all, that way you guys still get to hear the tracks, we all win.

I half-agree with Alaine in that, well... his wit is just not the same. To be honest, it's a lot down to his obsession with this new style, it's just botching much of the lyricism as... He even had a lot of his 'snap' in 2009. It wasn't CLASSIC wit but it still had that magical spark to it like...

And just the... I dunno what to call it. Just like, very assured, lyrical ring-master, he just seemed more sure of himself. Where as now it's like he's trying to fit in, which he's pretty much said himself in that SkyRock interview (tryna adapt) and in the process, fucking up what he has got.

He's also just not as worldly, plugged in or socially-aware as he was. So the material is just 99.9% about him fucking things, fucking the world, fucking women etc. it's getting seriously repetitive. And we're only noticing because he's doing it in such unimaginative (for him) ways.

Needs to step the ideas up now. It annoys me that he hasn't even TRIED to top say "Stan", in scope / ambition. I mean even if he tried and failed it'd be better than not trying. He's so obsessed with improving his technique, which I'm all for but at the same time, the content is suffering because of it. It's like he doesn't have that same ambition, to blow your head open.

Soooo many ideas he could do, simple-ideas that he could put his many lyrical strengths to use for and take to the extreme. Take for example "25 to Life", he takes a simple idea 'married to the game' and just BREATHES it, THAT is the creativity he needs to embody and aspire to always.

I'm really glad this period of his life (pills etc.) is over with, in his music, and the media have done it to death - As he won't be able to seriously revisit it without looking desperate / self-parody now. So it's going to force him to be original. But I also agree with you, the emotional content will be stale, we need concepts and big ideas. Not whimpering and bitching.

Yeah....you are the minority. One of the worst serious posts I've ever read here. I think people would like to see a more random/crazy eminem. Em emoed us to death on Recovery. I'm glad he's recovered and loves his self and all that gay shit. But I would much rather here him say something crazy like

I said stories & emotional songs, I count songs as Going through changes, sing for the moment, lose yourself.. as his emotional songs & I count songs with concept like stan, ltwyl,.. are stories songs. In other words, I want relatable mature music, that's the kind of music he is capable of doing good right now.

it's amazed me that people still think commercial success does not matter to an artist at all. Of course it does. If you made a song would you prefer it to be listened by 3 people or by millions of people? every artist wants their music to be heard by as many people as possible, that's why they became professional & recording album, not doing karaoke or uploading youtube videos. Ok that's a little off your question but since we all know for sure it wouldn't be a commercial success, it's pointless to release it to the masses, just make it a mixtape would be easier. Actually now that I think about it, no way Jimmy Iovine would let Em have an ep with Royce out officially anyway since it's counted to Em's contract.

Anything Eminem releases will be sale if that's what you're worried about. Relapse is as "uncommercial" as an Em album can ever get and it's still 2x platinum. Of course, it wouldn't do 3x platinum in 6 months like Recovery, but that's where I was asking, does that really matter? Plus you not wanting an EP to come out because you don't care about the songs is just... You can simply choose to not listen to it and let those who do to enjoy the new music.

edit: now i just realized you don't mind it being a mixtape. So what difference does it make FOR YOU if it's an EP or a mixtape? You won't listen to it either way I don't get your reasoning.
