When I first heard that his single was titled "Not Afraid" I immediately imagined a sparse, raw, unapologetic song. I imagined a chorus telling off his haters, saying something like (message wise): I'm not afraid to be myself, not afraid to make things like Relapse, not afraid of your criticism, etc. I also assumed it would be in an argumentative tone (not yelling, but still "loud and confrontational").

Instead, we got the opposite. It was an apologetic ballad.

I really want something like what I initially imagined.

Well I think he's not going to put out another album until after Detox, then D12.

So it's going to be a good while before we get another Eminem album but I think he'll like that as the work on Detox, the D12 album and a short break will probably give him fresh ideas.

One thing's for sure - I'm glad that he's literally covered every apsect of his life up until this point. Recovery was his last bit of "juice" in that area and it was the better part of two albums (Relapse and Recovery), both in different executions and aims of course.

But I personally am sick of his introspective work and have been since 05. Not to say he still doesn't produce good songs doing it, but it's such a waste of his penmanship. He pretty much killed it with TES. Encore should of been a brilliant execution of that concept (killing himself then the audience) and closed it all off completely.

Which, it pretty much did and he attempted a kind of reinvention with Relapse. But then as soon as some people didn't like it went straight back to safe-ground and right where he said he didn't want to go when he first came back.

But I'm glad he did anyway. As now he's aired that in all its entirity, it's done.

So he will be forced to be creative again. He's already proven he can be with "25 to Life". With his vivid imagination and lyrical capability, the possibilities are endless. He should take new inspiration (which I'm sure he has) from B.o.B and Cudi... And Kanye, in terms of just fully committing to emotions / ideas as entire song premises.

In terms of just, making the material more artistic and sparse. Keep the same lyrical focus but stop being so stern, he's become so formulaic... Pretty much since TES. He became a better songwriter because of it but it's just so... It's like... 1st verse / chorus / 2nd verse / chorus / 3rd verse. An occasional bridge and a quirky hook that ties it together.

But regardless of how undeniably inventive and brilliant he can be line to line or WITHIN the songs, he's not doing that will full ideas, in the same way that he used to. But, like I say - "25 to Life" was actually that. As was "Almost Famous". So hopefully he is actually starting to dig deeper again now that he's all out of emotional bullshit to drag through the mud.

Can't wait to see what he does now.

Within 2 years a new album

He's gonna do some shit with D12 and Slaughterhouse and just feature on a bunch of tracks - my guess :y:

A realistic opinion on this.

I think another album won't come out, at the earliest, like late Sept./early Oct. for next year.

I can see him doing a bunch more features- i.e. Slaughterhouse, Bad Meets Evil, Dre, D12, etc.

I can also see a D12 next year like mid year, maybe a little bit after. If so, that would obviously slow down the process of Em releasing his next solo album. But he is also working at a great pace right now so you never know.

Producers Likely To Be On it- Marshall, (Dre, also exec.), Alex Da Kid, Bo1da, JB, Khalil, and possibly jim jonsin as well.

Possible Features- D12, Cashis, Royce, SH, Dre, 50, maybe lloyd banks, etc.

i think his next album will be a even better album than Recovery was, and should be a classic one- I'm thinking like TES shit but I'm getting too far ahead of myself here.

No, it would make the song worth listening to. Imagine if Ghostface killah started singing.

I'm worry that he hasn't somethink to rap about. If he continue talk about his addiction and that he's strong now or the stupid love songs that will be corny. I think the best subject metter will be Shady vs Marshal type of shit, somethink like My Darling

That's a LONG ass time. If Em is working heavily on this album, we probably won't get another Em album 'til 2012

I cant remember where I saw it to. No body knows how much Em has worked on Detox? Then you got the D-12 album which could just need the Em verses then its done or not?

is that album under shady/interscope? cuz if it is, I can already see it not getting out ever (unless they get a top 10 hit out by next year, which is impossible anyway so  )
