Just got contacted by an A&R. **RECIEVED THE CONTRACT**

For a Record label called TMG. They're a fairly large christian label.

I sent them this song about a month ago. I wasn't expecting to hear back from them because I don't see that song as all that great. It was recorded about a year ago and I've grown exponentially, as an artist, since then.

But they called me today out of the blue. The woman asked where I recorded the song and I told her my bedroom (LOL). She asked if I've done live gigs, which I have, so I told her yeah. We chatted for a little bit. I expected her to tell me that they couldn't take me on as an artist.. I was wrong. She informed me that they would like to sign me for a 1 album contract and that she's FedExing me the contract and it should be here tomorrow for me to look over and sign if I like it.

Although most, if not all of you, don't listen/like christian hip hop; This is a huge oppertunity no matter how you look at it. Being a Christian, I can't turn this down if it's legit.

Yeah, lol. I'm still looking though. I mean, this just tells me that my music is good enough. I'd want to be signed to something like StrangFamous or Black Clover.

Bruh, be careful with signing such a contract. You never know, and make sure you never sign a 360 deal (in case you don't know yet....). Just make sure you know what you're signing, anyway, congrats, man. This means your work is good enough for a label, that's always good to know.

That'd be awesome. Not a fan of Christian Hip Hop/Rap by any means but if it fits you and you can do it then more power to you.

Just make sure, (I'm sure you're probably smart enough) that they don't fuck you over with the contract and know exactly what you'll be getting into. I'd say that is 90% of new artists issues getting into the industry. Don't be one of those and you'll be good.

that doesn't sound like a proper way to do business but if it's legit, get a professional to go over the contract. and if you negotiate further in the future with them, add to the option to buy out your contract.

Thanks guys. And yeah, my family knows an attorney so I'm going to have him take a look at it for me.

Christian hip hop, for the most part, isn't that bad. As Cosh pointed out, KJ-52 is a good artist. As is lecrae, Trip lee and Braille, to name a few.

I'm hoping this goes somewhere worth mentioning. I don't expect to get famous from this deal, but I expect to gather a fanbase if all goes according to plan.

I'll keep you all updated. The contract should be in the mail tomorrow.
