And, as for putting Recovery above Relapse. That's slightly difficult for me, I still can't decide which one I prefer and I'm pretty sure I enjoyed Relapse more at the time but...

When considering them as coherent albums, Relapse has those two fuckers "Crack a Bottle" and "Beautiful" which will forever ruin the memory of a nearly-perfect album to me.

Where as Recovery doesn't have a weak track. And I used to think it was incoherent with the production but actually, the more I listen to it - the more it all starts to gel and actually, all the production works as production for a single album. It's just not maybe structured as tightly and has no particular direction, but... it seems to all improve with time with it.

What do you have against Beautiful? Not trying to start something lol, just wanna know. If it was on a different CD would you have liked it better? It doesnt really fit the theme of Relapse at all so that might be why you dont like it as much.

People keep misunderstanding me everytime I say it.

It's not the song itself, as in the song being so terrible, it's a good song. Like I said and will say again - it's because the song (and CAB) was made for a DIFFERENT ALBUM.

It sounds nothing like the rest of the album and sticks the hell out. And therefore ruins it to me, totally trashes the cohrency when nearly everything else is perfect. But the reason it's so bad is because it sounds like it could of been on Curtain Call and...

It's a rock-fueled / sampled beat, produced by Eminem, with him rapping in sort of, "When I'm Gone" style about depression and his issues then literally everything else is produced by Dr. Dre, all gels, all sounds like it was from one session of song-making and all have the same higher pitched, clearer tricky flows.

It's like a totally random scene or, two scenes (CAB and Beautiful, though CAB fits it more) near the end of a movie. It would just wreck it. "Deja Vu" is a personal song too but it's the same production and style / rhyming style / flow so it totally works.

And I cannot see how Eminem himself couldn't see how bad "Beautiful" is just stuck on like that, it's awful. So annoying too just like one track, but ruins the album as a whole for me. Imagine... "I'm Shady" on The Eminem Show, in the place of say "Till I Collapse". That's what it feels like to me. It's a stark stark song contrast.

 You are right, Beautiful would've sounded better on a different album. But that song is definitely my favorite Eminem song of al time, [well, second to Stan], just 'cause it helped me through a lot too. But yeah, I definitely agree, maybe he should've switched Cold Wind Blows or WTP over to Relapse and put Beautiful on Recovery. Or something.

Too late now though :coffee:

1. Relapse (+ refill) = TES = MMLP
2. Recovery = Slim Shady LP
3. Encore

Love Relapse. Fucking love it, listen to the tracks all the time.

seriously i respect that you people the TES is the best of eminem .. its just IMO .. nahmean ? (i think i made re-up kinda overrated there .. it aint better than TES .. Gon' Edit :D)

Haha, yeah... it was mainly that The Re-Up's ranking that made go "wait, what", seeing as Eminem only has few songs in it.

Still not agreeing with Encore being over TES, but hey, it's all about taste :)

1- MMLP - It's simply a classic

2 - Eminem show - The most commercial album Em's ever done. It's one of the most enjoyable & re-playable rap albums ever, and probably is the best rock rap album ever.

3 - Recovery - Fantastic album after a decade in the biz. It has great variety of themes. Em proved he has his confidence back.

4 - slim shady lp - I can see why people consider it a classic. However in my opinion, it hasn't stood the test of time.

5 - Relapse - The album is a delightful nightmare.

6- Infinite - The Young rookie Marshall portrays his potential.

7 - Encore - Honestly, it's an awful album with only three good songs.
