Christian hip hop, for the most part, isn't that bad. As Cosh pointed out, KJ-52 is a good artist. As is lecrae, Trip lee and Braille, to name a few.

I can't get enough of Braille, I remember recording on his songs on his myspace when he was streaming his album cause I couldn't wait for when it came out.

Recieved the contract today. I just looked over it. I don't understand all of the legal terms but it seems pretty legit. They offer ALOT of publicity and promotion.

They offer one of 3 things as far as a promotional tool is concerned:

A) 15 second commercial on national T.V. advertising my album with exerpts from the single and still-form photos from a photoshoot.

B) Professionally put-together p2p website such as Facebook or myspace which will be handed over to me and I can sell my music off from / gather fans on.

C) A professionally made website which they will create / pay for maintenance for the entirety of the contract.

^^^ Either of those seem dope as hell, really.

Tate's legit, from what I remember. I read into them a bit when I was checking out indies. They had an artist on there named Hardaway if I recall correctly...seemed to be doing well for himself. I'm happy for you man, best of luck.

Well, 15 seconds is only 1/3rd the time of a regular commercial. And it wouldn't be on all channels, obviously. It stated in the contract that it would be aired before venues in the area of the venue I'd be playing at.

Neal McCoy is a country music singer (Very famous country singer) who just signed with TMG.
Reggie Hamm, who was on American Idol, just signed with them.
Kenny Rodgers does alot of work with them. I'm sure you're all familiar with him, lol.
Jeff Chandler is a platinum selling artist who is signed with them.

They're more than legit.

It's a christian label, so I think it's trust worthy. Reading over the contract, it states that I'll retain the rights to all my work. It's only a 1 album deal, but if I sell 2500 albums they'll extend the contract for another album and talk about up-front royalties and advances.
