Favorite Eminem style/voice since his comeback

Postby xxTrigger1989xx » Dec 24th, '10, 04:23

If this already exists, go ahead and lock it. But I don't know, I'm bored and I thought of this, so I figured I'd give us SOMETHING to talk about...

Lemme see, there's...

Relapse
The Warning
Forever/DTW
Despicable (I think this is a different style from Recovery, personally, but you can couple it with Recovery if you want)
Recovery (I'll include Where I'm At with Recovery, since it sounds very Recovery-ish)
And...Post-Recovery

Share your favorite style/voice since his return

I like the Forever/DTW the best, but the Recovery style is also good to me

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

I think those are my favourite. I like when he shouts on tracks that should be shouted on. Like, you wouldn't want his normal voice on Kim, right? I don't like it when it's over used though.

I like The Warning's voice, that was gonna be my choice, but I like his Drop The World verse so much I had to pick it

The Warning.
It has that childish/immature feel that he had in SSLP and MMLP, and the seriousness/anger of TES stuff. The flow is perfect, there are no stupid lines, it's focused, etc.

I wish he could maintain that.

I think if he could find a specific target like The Warning was, he could produce something just as good

I mean, take Almost Famous for example. Dope song, but he had so many unneeded lines like the ketchup squirter one. Seriously, why? Almost Famous was a damn serious/angery song and he messed it up with that junk. I'm fine with his stupid punchlines in songs like CWB, but he needs to draw the line. He didn't put any BS lines in Lose Yourself or Cleaning Out my Closet. Almost Famous could have been a classic if he had actually said things that mattered for most of it.

The Cocaine voice sounds dope.

The Warning as well.

Definitely "The Warning" voice. The ones after Recovery are just TERRIBLE. Em's sounding like a total pussy bitch lately, man. As he ages, his voice thins? Weird.

Anyway, "The Warning" :worship:
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

I don't think his voice has changed at all. I just think he's changing it up, obviously on purpose, to sound different and not make the same album twice
