It's like asking "would Encore be a classic without Rain Man, Big Weenie and Ass Like That". Of course not.

Lol, no but seriously I don't know about TWIA but I think MMLP would've been just as much a classic as it is today even without TRSS.

Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

I've thought about this myself quite a few times and I think without these 2 songs the album wouldnt have been a classic. Still solid, but definitely not the classic that it is with the 2 songs in.

Maybe it would still be classic... But it wouldn't be MMLP as it is now.

I see people mentioning that it would still be a classic with Stan, Who Knew, Marshall Mathers, Kim, Criminal, etc. I have to disagree with that, I think those songs would have just made it a good album. But not necessarily better than the Slim Shady LP. The Way I Am and The Real Slim Shady turned out to be 2 of my favorite Eminem songs period. They were 2 of the biggest singles he's ever done to hype up an album.

It would have still been a great album but it wouldn't of had the same mainstream success.

The Way I Am is my favorite Em song, so I'd have to say no

It'd still be an amazing album and classic but I think that without those two songs...it's general acceptance would have been less not to mention it would have been a bit of a lesser album.

At least explain why you think it will still be a classic. I don't think it would have been a classic without those 2 songs because they are 2 of my favorite Eminem songs to date. IMO, they were the perfect #1 and #2 singles to hype up the album. Plus, The Way I Am is my favorite Eminem song aswell. So, without those 2 songs, I feel like his first album would have been better.

Why do i think it'd still be classic? Nobody here is gonna deny how good pretty much every track on the album is on their own merits, so even without the 2 songs it's still pretty damn great, which you can't say for many albums when you take away their most popular songs from the tracklist.

It depends more on what the question specifically is; the album is just as good without the songs but i do think that these two songs definately join the album together perfectly and it would definately be very different without them. So i don't know if the album would be as successful or popular without them, but i do think it'd still be as good as SSLP and TES just purely cause of the quality of the writing he had in that era. I'm sure any songs he could have written instead of them would be just as good, like that "Kiss My Ass" song he wanted to do with Hailie for it or the fact that he once considered puttin Shit On You on it in some form.

When this life makes you mad enough to kill
That's Rock Bottom
When you want something bad enough to steal
That's Rock Bottom
When you feel you have had it up to here
Cause you mad enough to scream but you sad enough to tear

But everywhere I go they keep playin my song.
