1st They didn't like his stuff, so he felt like he had to change his style. People said he was jacking Nas' style.
2nd He did change, like people said they said he should, and became a massive commercial success.
3rd People bitched, and said "Oh, he just did some shit with Missy,
so now he thinks he's too big to do some shit with MC Get-Bizzy"

So...the underground went back to their original viewpoint: being critical.
IDK, this line always made perfect sense to me.

Exactly! He really does get pissed about the bad reaction to Infinite. And since then... been on the highway- TES was too smooth, MMLP not creative, Encore too jockey, Relapse too grim, Recovery too whiny.
