I'm not a huge fan of her, I've listened to a few tracks of The Fame Monster and liked them a bit.
I feel she tries too hard to be different, that's a big pet peeve of mine so she can get on my nerves at times.

Back on topic, I can understand why any one who supports gays and is a gay would say this. But the man has said himself that he has nothing against gays in interviews, by the performance with Elton, and stating he supports gay marriage. Either people are at the point of not believing him or they just assume things by what they hear about his music. Because the few people I know that say he is a homophobic haven't listened to a single song, only judging by what they hear on websites, TV, etc.
