How Do You Dye Your Hair Blonde From Black

I have dark black hair and I'm thinking about dying my hair blonde because I've had a lot of fucked up things happen in my life and I wanna try something new under a new hair color. I read articles about dye, and bleach- what is the best option to fully dye your hair blonde if you have jet black hair? I'm talking as far as doing it myself, not having nobody paid to do it profesionally. I heard people say you should use plastic throwaway gloves too. Anybody ever done this before or have any tips/help for me? Thanks.

If you have black hair and wanna dye it blonde, it's actually a must to bleach it.

Do what you want... what you think it's better.

But know this, it destroys the hair, make it looks like it's straw (at least for me), hair dries and easily breaks, especially if you paint it blonde, because of the ammonia that is needed to stick the color in the hair. I saw in an interview, though, that new formulas without ammonia might be better.

Most of the time I see painted hair as bad lookin'. Little exceptions. Paintin' looks like an unnecessary chemical filling the hair...

You can make another thing to show your change, if the biggest change is in your way of being..

If the natural hair is black then you have to bleach it.I suggest u try a saloon tho.If you have dyed it black...i suggest you let your natural hair grow,or you gonna become a redhead

Do NOTTTTT do it by yourself.... Ive dyed my hair many times in my life and thats the advice im giving u, especially if you want to go blonde... It will turn orange ... Go get it done at a hair dresser.

Well, If you are really serious about this and since I was blonde for the longest time.. And I mean Blonde. As it can even get. I actually just went back natural though. I always did my hair by myself and I dont think it was ever that bad. It never got fried or anything either.

There is stuff out there to help all those other issues too as far as getting damaged or orange hair. And if you really fucked up somehow. You could cut it.. Where I couldn't since my hair was pretty much down to my ass.

What I would personally suggest is using Bleach. You will not get blonde hair with color. I will even actually show you what I used exactly if it helps. Which I always picked up at Sallys Beauty Supply. Hopefully you have one or something like it around.

You need a few things.

A Developer - I used the 30 Creme Developer, You may want the 40 - http://www.sallybeauty.com/developer-pe ... fv1=SLNCAR

The actual Bleach/Lightener - I just used Salon Care brand. I can't find link of. You could also use this http://www.sallybeauty.com/Clairol-Ligh ... =Hair05-04

..And last. You just need to use a good Shampoo and Conditioner. Use to your choice and what makes your hair feel the best to you.


Oh, And don't be afraid to go into Sallys or whatever store you may have.. Simply just ask them. Tell them what you want and they will help you get exactly what you need. If all else fails.

I thought it only lasted for like 2 weeks or a month or whatever.

of course your roots are going to start growing back after 2 weeks to a month... You can go get your roots redone at the hair dressers, and it shouldnt be much expensive... If you dont want to do that, then go buy some dye ( FOR ROOTS) ask the pharmacist ( or whoever works where you decide to buy it ) ... Once your color is in, roots arnt that hard to do or dangerous. I still recommend going to a hair dressers to re do your roots, its cheap.

Thanks Buffy. People always say that it's mad expensive though to get your hair dyed, and I always assumed that they meant that it was expensive to get any color dyed, including blonde. Having my roots dark again and the top blonde might be a hot look, but how long will the top of it stay dyed longer?

well its kinda hard to say...cause everyones hair grows diffrent... i would say maybe 3 months ...
It is kinda expensive, but in the end it will look great... Plus your a guy so it should be 70% cheaper then a girl getting her hair dyed
