Lucky Nember Slevin is pure awesome. Was given a total critical dis-justice due to it being perceieved as a QT knock-off, nothing of the sorts...

And the ending is, totally bittersweet.

But #5 of all-time?

I wanted to put more Kubrick films, but couldn't forget a Vonnegut story. It's so hard, but god I love movies :flutter:

Not a bad list... I find it very hard to name a top 10 let a lone a top 5. I feel like you'd at least have to say "top 10 comedies, top 10 thrillers etc."

But, I'll have a stab at 5...

1. Fight Club
2. Goodfellas
3. Pulp Fiction
4. American History X
5. The Matrix

It's very hard right because, you wanna try and put a slight balance in the list without also totally divorcing yourself from your own opinion or pandering...

My list would always be changing anyway but Fight Club, Pulp Fiction and American History X always deserve to be near the top stratosphere. Along with Goodfellas and Taxi Driver.

Oh and... Se7en deserves to be up there always too, if only for the ending. Oh, and Training Day, one of the best screen villains ever... man, so many great movies.

Chet Starr wrote:I fucking adore Pulp Fiction, but I really think Jackie Brown is the better film. They are both alike besides the story, but they are both interweaving crime stories.

I think it's just the soundtrack and Robert De Niro that make Jackie Brown the better film for me.

And Jackson's fucked up hair

Hmm. Well I've always loved Jackie Brown, it feels to Tarantino what The Eminem Show is to Eminem. His mature, honed third outing.

And it's also very funny... I just think Pulp Fiction has more high-points, more classic-scenes, a better structure, and better characters. But I could definitely stand somebody calling Jackie Brown the better movie, it's in the same ballpark.

Also, when De Niro is in the van and Jackson asks him if Melanie is dead, De Niro's response "(pause) / (awkward nod)... pretty, pretty much" = comedy gold

Those 5 movies have entertained me more than any other movies. My music and my movie views are completely different. I could care less about how classic something is. I figured out Fight Club half way through, I thought that movie was boring.
