After it was reported that Britney Spears would open up the 2011 Grammy Awards ceremony this month, another source has come out and said that this is untrue and that Eminem is actually in line to perform first.
Online gossip site Bloginity yesterday reported that Britney would perform her new single “Hold It Against Me” at the bash on 13th February, however a source said: “Britney hasn’t even been confirmed to perform at the Grammy’s let alone open the show.
“Eminem will be kicking off the show. As big a star as Britney is, she has only just come back and it would make no sense for her to open. ”
Eminem, whose album “Recovery” was the biggest selling record of 2010 in the States is up for 10 awards. It is not yet known what song he will be performing on the night, however a possible duet with Rihanna on “Love The Way You Lie” seems unlikely with the singer set to attend and perform at the UK BRIT Awards just two days later on the 15th.
