Is Eminem losing his accent/voice inflection?

Postby FreeSpeech » Feb 2nd, '11, 06:09

He still has it a bit, but I feel like it's going away. He used to say words much differently, kinda over-accentuate a lot of his rhymes. Anyone else notice this? It's almost like he focuses on saying his words correctly.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not critiquing him, I'm just pointing it out, so don't get your panties in a bunch. I do like his old accent/voice better, but I don't have much of a problem with this one.

The black/Detroit accent?

Yep, he is.
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

Has anyone else notice how he says "appreciate"?
He pronounces it "uh-prish-eeh-ate"

I love it lol :D

Do you honestly think his voice is the same? I'm not talking tone/pitch/delivery method. I'm saying, he's talking differently, losing the accent, and pronouncing/accentuating his words in a new manner.

:y: Yeah, I was just thinking about this a couple days ago actually. I couldn't think of why it sounded different to me, but now that you said that, it really does seem like he is focusing on saying the words correctly.

You can for sure lose accents dude. My bro's grandad is Irish, but he's been living in America for like 50 years. I can understand 100% of what he says with no effort. His (the granddad) sister came to visit, she's lived in Ireland her whole life. i talked to her and her accent was so thick that you had to focus to make out what she was saying.

He picked up the accent from the people he was hanging out with. Over the years as he's gotten away from many of those people, the accent has faded.

No, he has changed his voice for EVERY ALBUM. And I almost guarantee we'll get something totally different on his next album. He can still perform his old songs perfectly live. He switches it up on purpose

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake
