Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

the major issue that ruined the whole album is the accent!

I'm sorry guys, I cannot withstand it! This is one of the reasons why i hate this album

Great topic who cares which album is better for the moment, lets just all agree critics are fags, jumping back on eminems dick because he's popular with the mainstream again and insulting relapse like they have any fucking clue....

I loved Relapse, that album made me a Eminem fan and yet I liked it for the very reasons other people seem to hate it "theres no content, he just talks about killing people"
Relapse was fucking dope, seeing all the negative reviews from the public and those fags at MTV was one of the reasons I stopped giving a shit what they think. Some people have valid reasons for disliking it but those fuckers just straight up discredited it while promoting Soulja Boy & Young Money, so what the fuck do their opinions mean.

Well people are bound to think Relapse is shit now that Em has said it himself.

Dunno why he says that though, some of the songs on Relapse are fucking brilliantly crafted and still get much more play from me than pretty much every song on Recovery. Sure it has it's low points, but so does bloody Recovery.

I've only read a few posts out of the 5 pages in this thread, so I apologise in advance if someone has already said it.

But LOL at the fact some people think Relapse is some kind of grimy underground album that no one knows about, and Recovery is the most mainstream thing ever. People literally act like Relapse was commercially unsuccessful or whatever.

Ok sure, Recovery is a more commercially successful album than Relapse, definitely....but don't front. It was 2009, and Relapse did well. Extremely well.

* Relapse was a #1 album, and sold 610,000 copies in it's first week. (USA)
* Relapse reached #1 in 11 different countries.
* Relapse was the highest selling hip-hop album of 2009.
* Relapse has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide.
* Relapse contained a #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100

It also contained another top 10 single (We Made You) and a further top 20 single (Beautiful - #17)

Most music artists in the world today would consider all that..... a fucking success ^

What the fuck is mainstream?

I think it's a scapegoat for people giving their music taste extra meaning, just because less people give a shit about it.
My Top 5 (in no order)-

Eminem
Big l
Biggie Smalls
Royce Da 5'9"
Jigga

Yep but an artist is always gonna be compared to his previous works and I guess that's where the 'failure' comes in, though I definitely don't consider Relapse that.
