INAD - Em >>>> Dre

Acid_M wrote:I fuckin hate INAD. Never mind the fact that practically a love song with homo-erotic undertones, it's not even a Dre beat and doesn't belong on Detox. I know I don't have a right to say what or what doesn't belong on Detox but if there's anything else like that shit, I don't wanna hear it.
Old Time's Sake is better but not by much. The beat sounds like a chronic 2001 throwaway and Em's got that accent going...
Best collab these 2 have done recently was Hell Breaks Loose, that shit was BAWS (emphasis on BAWS)

Dre isn't about substance, he's about banging beats, which INAD does not have. He is about pristine mastering and sound quality, which INAD does not have. INAD isn't a bad song, but if you think it's the type of song that deserves a 12 year hiatus, you're a moron. The audio is trash, and Alex Da Kid can fart out one of those beats every minute. You honestly think Crack a Bottle is better than OTS??? OTS wasn't dark because EVERY OTHER SONG ON RELAPSE WAS ABOUT SERIAL KILLING. You're reasoning INAD will get a lot of sales because Em has two verses? Guess what other song has 2 Em verses? OTS. Any Eminem single will blow up, so that's not a valid argument. Crack A Bottle was very mediocre and it is one of only 4 Em songs to make the #1 spot on the top 100.
As you would say, idiot...
You're just simply a moron. I bet you must feel so good because you think you proved me wrong. Yet you basically sound like a noob. Every musician/artist is about substance. You can't be good if you're not about substance. If there's no substance or flavor to a piece of art, it might as well be blank. It's like having pepper without salt, or trying to make macaroni and cheese without cheese. It's like an artist trying to paint without a paint brush. Saying that Dre isn't about substance but rather banging beats and good sound quality shows how much you know about music, which is a form of art.
I said nothing about a 12 year hiatus. I simply mentioned other Eminem and Dre collabs that were better putting OTS at the bottom. I was reasoning Detox getting a lot of sales because Eminem has more commercial appeal then Dr. Dre. I thought maybe loyal, intelligent Eminem fans on this forum would recognize that but maybe I should have been more specific cause people like you take things in the literal sense. Mostly anything with Eminem on it will sell more because people like Eminem and buy things he's associated with. INAD is highly emotional and might as well be Eminem's testimony to Dr. Dre. This song has such a strong message behind it regardless of what you think about the beat. In a nice way, Em is telling Dre to pick up the slack but is able to get that message across with awesome lyrics. OTS lacks a purpose and a personal or emotional message. While it may be a good song to vibe to or a cool original beat with "pristine, mastered" sound-quality (as most CDQ songs are), it's nothing more then a filler, for fun track. Em and Dre basically rap about nothing on that track. It's for fun and it's obvious given the title "Old Time's Sake". All I'm saying is given the track history of Eminem and Dr. Dre collaborations, OTS is at the bottom for me and they could have done ALOT better. I've often wondered by Hell Breaks Loose didn't replace this song.
The content of INAD > the content of OTS - end of story. If you try to argue that you have a neuro-chemical imbalance.
"The audio is trash, and Alex Da Kid can fart out one of those beats every minute." -Great reasoning; an intelligent statement to say the least.![]()
Crack a Bottle has 2 features on it and isn't an Eminem and Dre collaboration. While they did work together, 50 cent still has a verse which makes it Eminem ft. Dr. Dre & 50 Cent. Crack a Bottle and OTS are equally as bad but I'll give the nod to OTS only because of Eminem's unique flow to a mediocre yet original beat. And getting a song to #1 on the charts has nothing to do with quality of the song.
I don't know what point you're trying to prove.
stevebutabi09 wrote:I listen to Dre for his "sound" if that makes sense. His beats, the vibe of his music, his flow. This new INAD isnt Dre, even if the rest of Detox is more vintage Dre this track will stick out like a sore thumb and be an instant skip for me.
As a stand alone track its ok, but not for Detox

I Need A Doctor > Hell Breaks Loose > Old Time's Sake > Crack A Bottle
Old Time's Sake belongs on Relapse. INAD belongs on Detox
