Why is Eminem so reserved when talking about multis?

Y'know, I honestly think he doesn't even think about it. I mean, he writes with a pencil and paper. It's not like he does what most people do these days and moves shit around on a text document.

I think he just has a natural gift for it. A rhyme starts putting itself together in his head, and he siphons it through to the paper. I don't think he has to spend too much time cleaning up unnecessary syllables, reaching out for more multi's to add, etc. It just happens.

EDIT: Also keep in mind that the guy's been doing it for almost 20 years. Writing music is a dance he has mastered.

I genuinely think he underestimates people and doesn't want to seem above his station and thinks he'll bore them or people don't want that kind of detail...

because on like 07 interviews, whenever he got too serious or descriptive he'd revert to far noises and stupidity almost like a defense mechanism in case he was being perceived as boring or long-winded...

So, I don't think it's that he can't but that he's constantly editing and chopping down his substance for public media sound-bytes and not like all that consciously like "right now I'm going to make this more simple" lmao but like, I think over time he's done that.

Back in 99 and when he first came around he was more confident in talking about his music as art, talking about the themes and staying committed to a point etc. because on the Relapse interview too he begins to talk about genetics / addictions and cuts himself off like "not to get too scientific" thinking it won't be an interesting area and he's going too much into it...

When he wasn't going into much detail at all but I think is just underestimating people's attention spans. Or maybe he's not and the average fan of his really is like that, but I do wish he'd stop editing himself for the sake of summing stuff up. I'd love to hear him go into real detail about these things too.

Well, it's not a big deal that he doesn't use the word "multis"..."multis" is just short for multi-syllable(s), so him saying "syllables" isn't wrong by any means. I've never heard a rapper in an interview actually say "multis". But I see what you're saying
