Another gay interview on RB by Stew whos 'interviewing' Dev one:
As every stan and forum member knows, koolo, once the leak king of RB, became frustrated with the dialog between him and Jason in terms of buying Rap Basement. Now, he's teamed with Dev One to develop an entirely new forum that promises to do everything RB did and more.
Leading up to the forum's unveiling, Dev One answered a few questions about his new site.
What's the name of the site and how did you come to it?
Can’t give you the exact name of the site yet, but it’ll be released soon enough, sorry!
How will this site be like RB?
Koolo & I really like the idea of norms, veterans, moderators and admins, so we’ll stick with that format. The reputation system will also be similar. The music links section will be identical to what RB had before they were taken away but with an additional ‘Exclusives’ section where only admins & moderators can post but all registered members can access. This is for all the unreleased material that we’ve got lined up (Strictly not limited to Eminem).
RB had many great features at one point; we’ll simply be taking all the good traits from RB & leaving behind all the bad.
How will this site be different from RB?
We’ll either take away that annoying 120 seconds before next search feature or drop it to a fraction of RB’s amount.
We’ll have a section dedicated to Album & Official Mixtape Reviews.
Music links with exclusives.
A suggestions section, because unlike Jason we actually want to improve our site and are willing to listen to the community.
Exposure will be limited and dealt with immediately before they’re out of control.
And many more features to come!
You've mentioned music links. How will you ensure the new site won't get shut down by the feds?
We’ve done the obvious – bought a domain outside of America, purchased a .info domain extension and the dedicated servers are hosted offshore.
Will this be a direct competitor to RB or do you look at it as a complementary site?
Not a complementary site at all, although RB has 110,000+ registered members, 99.9% of them are inactive. I mean, how many posters do you actually see posting on a day to day basis, I could probably make a short list of said posters. These figures aren’t exaggerated either, I’m actually being generous, do you see 110+ different posters contributing throughout the week? Let alone in a day.
How will you convince longtime RB posters to jump ship from a forum they have thousands of posts and years of memories on?
There is always going to be a sentimental value to RB, for me it’s the only forum I’ve been an active member on, ever. But there is so much potential in RB that was never utilised, there has been no positive changes to the board in the last couple of years, only a distinct negative one – the deletion of the music links section.
You've mentioned a cut down on exposures. What rules will you have and how strongly will admins enforce them?
I used to love exposures, they’re fun, they’re exciting, but they’ve gone too far. Everyone tried to outdo each other. Exposures on the new site will be limited to images of the ‘exposed’ person & other embarrassing details that are not of personal nature. Anyone not abiding by this will simply have their account deleted.
What are your biggest fears going ahead with this new site?
No real fears at the present, just excitement to get the site up & running.
Is there anything else you want to tell the RB public about your new site?
Site will be up in less than a week, so it’s coming! (No Detox).
