Eminem should have won AOTY for SSLP, MMLP and TES. But hey, I bet Eminem cares a whole lot about what a bunch of middle-aged people in the Academy who don't understand rap music think.

Plus, it's hard to compare a non-rap album with a rap album. Never heard Arcade Fire's album so can't judge.

Yeah, actually, in all fairness, the rate thing I just did, was only based off the tracks I've heard from each one. The only one I've heard all of is Eminem's. The rest I've heard all the singles, plus a few album tracks, so I'm possible not qualified to judge. Although if I was basing Recovery off the singles and a few of the more well-known album tracks (Won't Back Down, Space Bound, etc.), I'd've probably still rated it the same way.

At the end of the day, it's just my opinion, and there's a degree of overlap anyway. Like the best track from Katy Perry's album is probably better than the worst track from Eminem's album (so basically Firework is better than Won't Back Down (in my OPINION (which is apparently not worth considering because I think Eminem is better than sex (but again, that's just my OPINION)))))))))))).

They're shit because I listened to them. They're totally generic and SHIT. But, that's opinion. Recovery crushed The Suburbs in sales. Every album nominated did too. So, if it wasn't Eminem it shoud've been the others (Gaga, Katy P.) which aren't as bad as Arcade Fire.

Oh and another thing. If Song Of The Year is judged on songwriting then LTWYL easily, shits, stomps, destroys, crushes, diminishes, (add similar adjectives here) any other song nominated. Not only is it 100x more complex lyrically (obviously,...it IS Hip-Hop, where the lyricism is much more complex than other genre) but the lyrical content is very relevant, relatable and sometimes even poetic. To me, that was the biggest robbery committed towards Eminem along with the blatantly obvious AOTY.

Why is it more complex? Because the genre revolves around it? Have you ever stopped to think that most other genres have their own way to create complex and very deep lyrics with less words? Hell, I rate most bands above most rappers when it comes to lyrics.

i really dont give a flyin fuck about who wins what, it aint gunna make me listen to them if i dont like that kind of music. i listen to classic rock if i want rock, i dont like alternative or country or metal, i like the old school shit if its rock. so dont get me twisted with 88 percent of other posters on eminem forums. i aint that.
