I wouldn't blame Em for being disappointed that he didn't win. I mean, thats the 3rd time that shit happened. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Em deserved that award. And I'm not just saying that because I'm a fan. I would love to see/read the reason why Arcade Fire was picked.

Yeah, I noticed that all the other nominees were clapping, except for Em. You know he was mad and thinking "wtf?" like the rest of us. lol

Recovery really was his best shot at winning AOTY. The most mainstream album he's ever done, and it spawned two of the biggest hits of his career. It's doubtful that he'll ever get nominated for the award again, especially since he may not be making music for that much longer. If he makes another diss towards the Grammys, I'm all for it.

If this is true, I'm not upset at him saying it or implying it (again, only if it is true and the denial is the reps way to make good), I would be more worried about the specifics to his statement.

He isn't one to care about awards, though obviously wanting awards versus losing them, so I think if he were to boycott it should not be for getting "robbed" but because they used him to promote the grammys (commercial, 10 noms, and first performance of INAD-which also brings with it having Dre on stage for the first time in forever). Again, this is all stated as a response to ems statement being true, though it obviously is denied in the article. But to use him to get viewers, hype fans, and everything else, and then snub him...is kind of bullshit. Either he shouldn't have been nominated for as many, or he deserved more awards.

One problem I have (in addition to arcade fire winning AOTY but not AOTY in their music category) is that LTWYL was up for song and record of the year, yet it lost two times to empire state of mind in rap categories. IF empire state of mind was better, which it is in terms of the grammys votes and opinions, THAT song should have been up for record and song, not LTWYL. I feel that makes sense in terms of being logical, but then again, the arcade fire thing is not logical, so again we are all left to guess

He made the best album of the year twice.
He made the most popular album with Recovery.

He should have won in 2001 but clearly the grammies needed a more mature single spawning album.

Em was still showed enough love to get nominated for 10 awards. That is huge. Not everyone can win, and a lot of people in other categories all deserved some love as well. I personally think Em had the best album in the category, but Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Lady antbellum all had huge years as well so while you may not like them, you should respect them for keeping the industry alive with hits and music sales. The whole world does not revolve around Eminem.

There have been plenty of artists who don't even get nominated, and plenty who get nominated and never win. There are legends that do not even have any Grammys. Neil Young and Cyndi Lauper are juwst 2 of these people who have never won a Grammy. There is tons of reasons to say people are ignorant here, because it is disgusting reading some of these posts.
