it does. it plays all DS games. but somebody said they want it so they can play Pokemon so i was saying a 3DS is not required.

Well I don't know I haven't been keeping up with video games but I thought the 3ds would let you do certain stuff or at least have add a feature to the pokemon games but yea IDK

A failure in every aspect. Well, other than graphics.

The whole "3D" premise is another gimmick to convince petty children to purchase yet another unnecessary 'supposed' advancement. Even if a company managed to utilize the 3D to its more-than-likely pathetic extent, it will result in very little change in gameplay (if at all), and result in what is bound to be a waste of hard earned money.

I'd wait out for the NGP. At the very least their gimmick with the back-touch can be utilized to effect gameplay in a positive way (according to Playstation Magazine".

I find absolutely stupid to label something as a failure when:

1) Is the successor to the most successful videogame system of all time
2) It has the support of some of the best gaming companies behind
3) It has 3D. Guess what? You can turn off the 3D entirely and you still have a gaming handheld-- and a Nintendo one nonetheless, company that has totally dominated the market since the 90's.
4) More importantly than anything, is not even out yet for Pete's sake (at least in Europe and North America), so it makes absolutely no sense call it a failure

You've listed nothing to credit the device anything but its past life. For the record, the DS was a failure in the eyes of any legitimate hard-core gamer. If you want to play "Cooking-Mama 3D" or a silly reboot of MGS, go ahead. Don't try and sugar coat the fact that Nintendo has been a lazy company for the past few years, and have done nothing to please their original fans. Instead, they dish out hundreds of terrible games for the moderately retarded generation (they probably had a hand in creating) as they laugh all the way to the bank.

Also, since you seem to have that superior air about you, let me explain something:

When asking someone to elaborate after an explanation, there is no reason to ask of them to elaborate more. The word elaborate serves that exact purpose.

Lastly, you're acting like I'm the only one with this obviously literature guided opinion. For your information 'Omega", several columnists with inside information are already labeling this a gimmick. This is no different than Sonys PSP Go; a quick, pointless and unnecessary cash in.

PS: The most successful video game system of all time is the PlayStation 2. Actually, the DS wouldn't even be second if it wasn't for the fact that Nintendo managed to squeeze several additional versions with features that should have been in the first.
