One of the greatest mic performances in the history of rap music
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide
Suicide, it's a suicide
If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

What else can you say about this album?

It's just jawdropping, 12 years on. Timeless classic.

Came back to annihilate, the game's in dire straights, as I await
Word on Satan, as I drop, fall to my knees before this Quija board and I pray
Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

Ridiculous album.

I think I was 12 at the time, and I was outside Kingston Av in Brooklyn and I remember all my homies and I were listening to DMX's album (Flesh of my blood) which was also new at the time, and DMX had crazy buzz at the time and around NY with Nas' disappearance act, he was the heart of the streets. Then this whiteboy who would always come and talk to us about hip hop came with the SSLP and tell us all about it, but not one of us would take notice. He brought the CD with him, and passed it on to me and said this guys the best rapper, and we laughed about how 'whiteboys' don't rap etc. etc. He gave me the CD, and I remember the only reason I gave it a try is of the CD cover, it just looked really cool, like a movie in a cover or something. Fwiw. he could've just sold me on the album if he told me Dre was the man behind Em.

Album changed rap for me completely.

This album is amazing in every way possible.

Its the closest a rapper has ever come to perfection.
