it really pains me to say this but yes em has 110% sold out.

What i want from em's next album
1. All beats produced by Em or Dre maybe Porter on a couple
2. No pop features unless its Skylar or Dina(askin a bit much but i miss Mrs Track 13 girl lol)
3. No shouting for no reason
4. Features from Dre, D12, Royce, Slaughterhouse
5. No Features from Kanye, Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicky Minaj, Pink, Rihanna, Blaze, Yalawolf,

to be honest i dont think im asking much. i think any em stan would be happy with this lol

That's what I would LIKE to see...
I doubt it...It's hard to relive your past when it was full of agony..
Trust me, I know.
I'd love to see Em do more production though.

He sold out with Not Afraid.

-He went against everything he stands for in apologising for his music (in the same song where he says "I do this for me" - in his prime I could see it as irony but the song is so ridiculously melodramatic I know it's not)
-He went for the worst generic shitty punchlines any 7 year old could think of. Copying a certain trend to fit in goes against his principles.
-His rhyming was crappy, something he doesn't stand for.
-The bridge and chorus sounded like they were made for a fucking boyband. Laughably bad. You can excuse Beautiful because he was pilled up then.

He took so many things he stood for and destroyed them with Not Afraid.

He toned down his lyrics to a ridiculous extent for a single, to market his album. That = selling out. He didn't tone down his lyricism to anywhere near that extent on his first 3 albums singles. Or even We Made You.

He wrote in The Way I Am, something along the lines of 'people say I sold out but even on my opening singles, I never toned down my lyrics'. Shame the same couldn't be said for Not Afraid.

I think you are overreacting. The guy changed. Don`t you ever look back at things you did, and you think, right now, I would do things differently?

He isn't a sellout. Cuz of 2 commercials? Naaaah. He didn't even make it for the money. He did it cuz of the big audience. He will be a sellout when he will have an own softdrink, an own Wodka label, an own perfume and so on ...

Everybody shouldn't really be that bothered.

The fucker went & made a semi-autobiographical film produced by huge hollywood studios. When he was meant to be this raw musical artist.

Infact, didn't he have a popular toy-line after the MMLP dropped? you know the one... with the attachable hockey mask & chainsaw!

xnoxiousx wrote:I dont think he is but he makes it easy for people to think so.

1. He has compromised his artistic integrity to gain radio airplay for love the way you lie which was just for sales he even thanked rihanna for helping album sell so well. Old eminem would not care or do this.

2. Out of no where he starts doing commercials when he always refused. Nothing like old em.

3. Started working with people for money and sales lil wayne instead of his older crue d12, royace and other which would have resulted in less sales (Clearly he sucks no one has balls to say it in main stream hip-hop)

4. When his Style Changed Dramatically.

1. He thanked her, that doesnt mean he didnt want her on it. It doesnt even mean he cared, just him being nice. We dont know whats going on in Ems head

2. Who doesnt want to be in a Super Bowl Commercial? Besides, he and Paul wrote the commercial, it was advertising him more than it was Ice Tea (I shouldnt have to talk about the Detroit commercial)

3. Em doesnt go online, I doubt Em kept up with music much over his little break from the world. Waynes is very popular, there is a good chance Em thinks Wanye is dope.

4. His production changed dramatically, his old style would not have meshed at all with it.

The only difference between new Em and old Em is one was an asshole and the other isnt. People cant go " I just Dont Give A Fuck" their entire lives, only depressed assholes go I Just Dont Give A Fuck and Ems not an asshole anymore.

EDIT: When was Not Afraid a toned down song? It wasnt made to be super explicit.

If anything it's our fault.

So the answer to that is to make an album oppsitie of relapse and make it more main stream instead of like mmlp and sslp?

This claim that Recovery is very mainstream is very absurd.

"Cold Wind Blows", "On Fire", "Almost Famous" - Those tracks are mainstream are they? lmfao. He's as angry, offensive and as hip-hop as EVER.

Just because the album was successful or because it has big singles does not make the album mainstream. You can't make such an outlandish claim without qualifying it.

And "Love the Way You Lie" is hardly an artistic compromise. He puts the most publicly visible domestic abuse victim in recent times on the chorus of a realistic song about DOMESTIC ABUSE? That's pretty fucking ballsy. Just because it's Rihanna... it's a tough pill to swallow, and by no means a compromise. It's what made it so unique.

Being bigger does not = mainstream. Being catchy does not = mainstream. He's still being honest, brutal, he's still caring about the craft, he's not holding his tongue, he's not watering down... nothing he's doing - artistically speaking, is mainstream, or compromised.
