If King Mathers was released

Postby Static » Feb 28th, '11, 01:21

So, if he released King Mathers, do you think we'd still have Relapse and Recovery? I mean, it would kind of count as an official good-bye album (It's Been Real prooves that it was supposed to be his last album), but since he never got around to releasing it, he never really officially retired. I have a feeling that we only would have Recovery. Cause I think he couldn't stay away from writing either way (but not be as eager to release it, since he somehow officially retired) But he said that he didn't get that feeling he used to from the Relapse tracks. So I think he would've released a comeback album (Recovery) when he got that feeling from making tracks again.

Thoughts?

That's why I think that you should have fun
Cos time won't wait for no one
When god calls, you gotta go home
They say the good die young
That's why I know that we go' have fun,
In this life cos you only get one
When God calls for me, don't cry I just went home ♪

If King Mathers was released Relapse wouldn't happen which means that Recovery wouldn't happen.

If King Mathers was released, Relapse and Recovery wouldn't exist, that's for sure.

Em would have officially lyrically fallen off. I still have some hope because I enjoyed Relapse & Recovery to some extent.

By sayin that he'll quit puttin out albums, Em is just foolin himself. Thats his life, he just cant get enough of rap. He'll probably rap for another 15 years or more.

The idea of Eminem releasing albums in his 50's seems VERY strange to me at this moment in time. But of course, age is just a number, and as long as the music is good, nothing else matters.

There has never been a rapper who is relevant, 50+ and still selling a lot of albums. Maybe Em can be the first?

He's running out of stuff to rap about and he's 40.. How is he going to come up with material for the next 15 years?

King Mathers would have been his last album, which would have been a bad way to go. I'm ultimately glad it wasn't released, but I'd like to hear it anyway 'cause I'm interested.

Thats what people said before Recovery. Well, he proved them wrong. There is ALWAYS stuff to rap about. Okay, he might not be too personal anymore, but he can still find good concepts for his records.

I wasn't one of those people. I felt I wanted to hear some of the personal stuff that he went through recently. We got that, and now I feel like he's going to start running dry.
