People who are saying his lyrics were good are most likely referring to storytelling wise not technically. Either way this isn't worthy of even being a discussion. Holy shit next we're gonna be arguing about the true meaning behind Weewee.

Weewee is atually a metaphorical song about his drug-taking with several subliminal disses to Lil Wayne throughout.

OK, another "oh no I'm getting nowhere with what I'm saying, let's throw out an insult and see if that get's me anywhere" line. It's moronic to say talking to me is like a mentally retarded kid. You're clearly unable to come back with a retort of any substance so instead you take it upon yourself to get in a hissy fit and start hurling insults. Yet I'm the retarded one, OK. Everyone who thinks Difficult is fine the way it is, without multies, is a retard. No matter what valid points they raise, they're just a retard. I actually thought you were a decent poster before but making ridiculous comments like that just makes me believe you're just another TRshady poster incapable of having a decent debate.

...

Yeah, I'm incapable of a decent debate even though I was replying all last night to people. I already said I had stopped because the thread had went way off topic, yet you continued trying to argue your point so I got annoyed and insulted you since you don't seem to have 2 brain cells to rub together.

So, *copy* annnnd *paste*.
This thread has went wayyyy off-topic, so I'm out. At the end of the day, Em needs to drop the shitty punchlines.

You obviously missed the news about Lil Wayne being a keen consumer of bananas, strawberries, pineapples and oranges. Eminem is basically acknowledging that he heard this news and is saying "FUCK LIL WAYNE - HE CAN TAKE HIS BANANAS, STRAWBERRIES, PINEAPPLES, ORANGES AND PUT THEM ON MY DICK! LIL WAYNE SUCKS!!!!"

How could anyone miss that point?

Yeah, because Difficult had such a precise flow anyway, right? Just make it "it was a hundred degrees" then. Now which option do you prefer?

Well "it was a hundred degrees" would fit better than "it was like a hundred degrees". What's your point?

Oh OK, cuz that "u mad" line is amazingly original and never been used before. Why would I be mad that you're in a hissy fit? You get a 1.5/10 for taking the fact that you got mad, as you even admitted to, and trying to turn it around to make it look like I'm the one that's mad. Bravo.

Enjoy listening to your dumbed down music from such classic tracks from drugged up Em, such as Wee Wee, Fack, and that oh so brilliant Ballin Uncontrollably.

I'm out.

Amadeo wrote:Would the "it was a hundred degrees" option fit better than the "it was like ninety degrees" option?

My point is that well-crafted multis make lyrics sound better. Hearing someone rhyme more than one syllable is more sonically exciting/arousing than hearing someone rhyme one syllable.

Well I mean "it was a hundred degrees" has seven syllables over two beats, which is the same as "it was like ninety degrees". To be honest I'd probably prefer "it was ninety degrees" though as the "ee" sound at the end of "ninety" has some assonance with the "ee" in "degrees". I'm not at all disputing the idea that multies or the use of more sylable rhymes can make the song more exciting, I'm just saying that with Difficult the song is so somber and depressing that I don't think it needed any injection of multies to generate excitement.

Jesus, you sound more and more like a baby with every post. You turned from a semi-decent poster into having tantrums and resorting to the pitiful "u mad" images with every post. Honestly, I'm not even trying to make you look stupid here, please stop for your own sake. You're just digging a hole.

Amadeo wrote:You prefer hearing the assonance of ninet-Y/degrEEs over the rhyme hundred degrees/under the trees? That's odd.

"It was a hundred degrees, I was catching a sunburn, trying to walk under the trees just to get me some comfort." This just rolls off the tongue. Has a nice, digestible ABAB pattern.

But whatever. Each to their own.

But "ninety degrees/under the trees" works too, no? Am I missing something? "It was a hundred degrees" and "it was like ninety degrees" both have the same number of syllables and both rhyme with "trees". I don't see how "it was a hundred degrees" is any better in terms of rhyming :/

Ah OK I get what you're saying now. I see your point, there is more assonance/rhyme there with "hundred de-" and "under the".

My favourite part of Difficult are the opening lines, they are also the best part of the song, technically:

They ask me am I ok, they ask me if I’m happy
Are they asking me that because of the shit thats been thrown at me
Or am I just a little snappy
And they genuinely care
Doodie, most of my life has just been me and you there
and I continuously stare at pictures of you
