Embase, I think you hit the nail on the fuckin head with the end of your other post, about the cinematic quality...

But remember, all the songs he listed came from the same short period, TES/8 Mile, and I think part of that is probably why "criminal" in his mind didnt fit...I think that makes sense right?

Anyway, freespeech if I was right or on track, cool...if not my bad for my assumption :sweating:

Embase, what I said to him about you too :smoking:

I don't know if I take that as you loving "Say Goodbye Hollywood" more but it's the song that got the most plays on TES :worship: People barely mention it here.

Yeah that's pretty much on track with what Embase said. MMLP is my favorite album of all time though (any genre, narrowly beats out Sgt. Pepper by The Beatles) so it's not like the era they were done really affects my opinion. Plus The Way I Am was MMLP and I listed it.

Nah you were generally right with what you said, Way I Am was probably done towards the end of making MMLP. And nothing on SSLP or Encore and on really matches that "larger than life" element, so it KINDA matters the era (MMLP-8 Mile).

It's topics like these that remind me just how amazing Eminem's discography is. In terms of how many great/timeless songs he has.

I mean, most of the songs you are talking about are 12 years old (SSLP tracks) 11 years old (MMLP), and 9 years old (TES). Yet when I play them, they all sound so fresh and are nearly as good as when I first played them.

Just think how disposable the majority of music is, especially these days. You might enjoy a song for a few months (at most) and you will probably never play it again. Definitely won't be playing it 11 years later, and still enjoying it as much.

All of the songs that FreeSpeech and EminemBase mentioned, I guarantee I will still be listening to in 20-30 years time.

i agree with all the songs listed in the OP, and a lot of people may not agree but i'd put 'Soldier' in there too. especially with the skit in the beginning, the buildup is great.

Lose Yourself has the most complex Eminem rhyme scheme ever. Possibly, the most complex EVER.

LY = Best song of all time.

I'd take out Cleaning Out My Closet from this list & add Marshall Mathers, Rock Bottom & Say Goodbye Hollywood. Just for my personal taste, these are complete masterpieces not one complaint about them not one thing that needs to be changed they're perfect as is.
