My song better than Lose Yourself

Postby classthe_king » Mar 23rd, '11, 23:43

This is the only thing I wrote over my ban :shifty:

This is Hip-Hop, I bleed it, I spew it
I need it, I grew it from the heart, it’s me in my music
I’ve done this art all my life; I got a reason to do it
I come apart on the mic as I’m screamin into it
Believe in the movement, I’m bringin rap back to the people
You’re singin wack and I don’t think of that rap as an equal
I’m speakin facts and I can see that that trash is deceitful
This is Hip-Hop baby; get out that passion is feeble
How’s this not crazy as I shout this rhyme
He’s out his mind if he thinks it’s as proud as mine
When we sync I reach peaks in the mountain side
Then crouch n’ fly with these wings to the clouds n skies
I’m ‘bout to shine over the strings, notes n the chords
It’s a part of who I am, these keys open the door
Into the heart of broken lands, I keep hope in the war
That I fight as I write dreams over the gore

(Chorus)

Any second I’m about to explode
On these fans when plenty records are left out in the cold
Who need that platinum plaque, please man
That track is wack; I demand that trash is scrapped
I’d rather listen to Sadistik or Mac spittin this crack
With mad writtens that’s missin in rap
On radio it makes me go past whippin their ass
My crazy flow slays these foes admittin they’re wack
This is for Prince Ea, I make smart cool
Cause that man convinced me to save our schools
This is for DZK’s astoundin’ rhymes
Makin songs we replay a thousand times
This is for Copywrite murderin beats
Sendin rappers off the mic, searchin for grief
This is for anyone where Hip-Hop resides in the heart
And will fight for the art till it’s their time to depart

(Chorus)

I’m blessed with gratitude and a head trip attitude
I’m layin tracks and takin rap to Sedgewick Avenue
Where it wasn’t about names or the beat backin you
You know nothin about fame; you just need rappin to
Get the pain off your chest and stay off the streets
Those days were the best, just blaze on the beat
It wasn’t about what got them money to be cliché
It was about Rakim, Chuck D and BDK
We need change; what’s chosen as great sickens me
The moment I taste victory I’m goin to make history
No one can take this from me, your raps a joke
So I’m at the throat at who’s controlling this great trickery
…It’s as simple as just open your eyes
You’ll drown quick in the middle of this ocean of lies
Allow this devout gift to let you see to the light
Fuck rap; just listen to my heart beat through the mic

Chorus (x2)

Nice try.
Come up with something that's at least "Rain Man" worthy, before you say "better than Lose Yourself"

I actually missed you

Anyways, so this isn't counted as spam, I'll say that anyone with a brain knows this isn't better than Lose Yourself. But, it is real good and has some quality rhymes.

inb4 someone says I've said Class sucks at writing previously (never have).

Rhyming was brilliant, no complaints there - gunna be interesting to hear this recorded, considering it's much better rhyme-wise than everything else you've recorded.

I felt the first verse was way too general, with quite a few cliched lines. Second verse was much better, much more entertaning. Third verse had a similar feel to the first, in terms of execution of the concept, but was slightly more interesting and had some better rhymes.

Good stuff.

Thanks for the feed, obviously this isn't better than Lose Yourself I just wanted to get some people to read the thread.

However I do think it's better rhyme wise

I've read this twice and never fed it. How badass am I? :8)

The subject matter, for me, is a little out dated. It seems like everyone had made a song dedicated to hip hop. It would have been better if you gave it a twist, imo.

The physicalities of the song are nearly perfect. You transition from line to line almost flawlessly. The flow doesn't seem choppy or out of place at all.
