Do you think he can sell a mil 1st week next album?

Postby ShadyVsEminem » Apr 11th, '11, 03:12

Recovery`s sales were great but Swift proved that a mil 1st week is still possible, does Eminem have the momentum to do it next time? it would be his 3rd time doing it in 7 mainstream album releases(if he did it)which would be some going. What are Encores 1st 7 day sales?

If Recovery didn't do it then I don't know what Eminem can do to make his next album sell that amount on its first week.

I don't think so. He'll need a monster first single to do that. I really doubt it.

he gained so many fans from recovery that he could probably do it. he would need to do it sooner rather than later, because sales are dropping so much year over year, and he would need a REALLY good first single to promote it, but i think it's still possible.

The amount of fans he gained from LTWYL can probably do it.

And Recovery had like no promotion.

Imagine if he promoted it.

And people think he cares about sales.

You assume all the Rhianna fans went out and bought recovery nope. I know lots of people who listen to recovery alone and dont like or listen to any other emienm song.

People who just buy singles usually dont buy albums first place they only buy the few songs of artist they like.

I for one buy hole albums.

Yes, I'm pretty sure. Look at all the hype around him, he couldn't have a better image right now. After Relapse wasn't received that good (for his standard) and he wasn't that hot topic, he still managed to sell over 740k with Recovery.

It all depends on the first single and promotion.

Nah, he needs to get as good as Lil Wayne first, then he might sell as much.

I think he can. He's seriously gained a LOT of fans since. Most people hadn't heard Love the Way You Lie on Recovery's first week of release, so he wouldn't have had those fans back then.

Yes, could be. He won't do the mistake to go back and release a funny song. I think he learned the lesson and will continue with his Recovery strategy. But it will be really really difficult finding another Not Afraid ...

I don't agree. I think his next album will be completely different, so I'm not sure he can sell so much (I hope so) and don't forget the leaks

Interesting point of view. So how could it be? Not simple create a completely new style after having changed already so much. You got some ideas?
