Hahahaahahhahaa

Oh and finally Eminem's an infinitely better rhymer than Lupe, but Lupe takes a huge dump on Eminem in the wordplay department.

I'm not gonna get involved in the hypothetical here, and I like Eminem more than I like Lupe, but for those trying to belittle Lupe's quality by mentioning Lasers and how he supposedly sold out, that's just stupid.

If you have one record to go on your contract, you're going to cave in just so you can finish the deal. Every release from Atlantic in the last 12 months from their rappers has been against what the rapper is usually about, I mean look at Wiz Khalifa too, he's stoner rap to the fullest, and his album was bubble-gum rap. Lasers is not a Lup Fiasco album, there's about 4-5 songs that are Lupe songs, the rest is all Atlantic.

In fact, for those who actually give a shit, this read might benefit you on the dealings of Atlantic.

You actually bring up a very good point, and it's something I've noticed myself.

It makes me sad that some people's opinion's of Lupe will be tainted by Atlantic's doings

Still, in your OP you're dealing with the hypothetical, when the fact is that Eminem in a one-on-one track with another good rapper always improves his game.

This couldn't be more untrue. Actually, as far as I can tell, and I've heard most of Eminems material, he hasn't been challenged by a talented artist yet. You couldn't possibly know whether or not Eminem would be able to handle a wordsmith like Lupe, because the fact is Lupe isn't Ja or Whitey, or Benzino, or Kim, or any of the other easy targets he's destroyed in the past. Sure, Canibus can write complex songs, but his magic ends when it comes to creating something that isn't copied from an astronomy encyclopedia. He hasn't been exerted to date, so stop acting like he's some battle king.

I don't think he was referring to a competitive beef with another good artist, but more so a collaboration with one.

But you're right, saying that there is no way we can tell if Eminem would be able to handle someone like Lupe is true, but it also remains true that you can't write of Eminem either. I don't know if I said it right, it's late, I'm tired and have an exam I'm not ready for lol

I really wish Eminem would collaborate with someone like Nas though, fuck!

I know what you mean. I'm not writing Eminem off, I'm just pointing out that he hasn't been challenged by anyone worth "stepping his game up" for. Also, his collab choices over the years have been mostly insignificant. It would be nice to see him leave the Southern/Western music scene, and find some talent to collaborate with. The whole thing leaves me wondering if he's scared to be outdone on a track with someone of a higher caliber... Maybe that's why he ended up passing on Tech Nine.

Couldn't agree more ^ To date, that's the most equally impressive collection of verses I've heard from them. Otherwise, Eminem has pretty much destroyed (or ghostwritten) every verse on a collab to date.

I'm looking forward to the album, but I hope (if Eminem is even on it) that he doesn't do the new "scream flow" he's been on.

Hmm, on some songs it's acceptable. I don't care for any of the songs you listed, but that's irrelevant. In my opinion he started the new "scream flow" because he doesn't like his new voice. I mean, listen to him on MMLP. He sounded so cool and calm, even during angry moments (excluding Kim, really). Then, on TES he had a few fits of rage, but they didn't take over each verse or each line he rapped.

Now, it's as if it's all he can do.

Lyrically Jay Z is pretty average (in my opinion, of course). He shines in other departments (ie; I'm sure he can wet the pop filter quicker than any other rapper due to his humongous bottom lip).
