The Kids>Kim

So as all of you probably already know, 'The Kids' is on the clean version of MMLP in place of 'Kim'. I, personally, think 'The Kids' is better rhyming and story-wise...

Just this portion of Em's verse in 'The Kids' is better than anything off 'Kim':

"And wait in the parkin lot for waitresses off the clock
When it's late and the lot gets dark and fake like he walks his dog

I love The Kids but Kim is one of these 'other-level' songs and arguably his most lyrical ever. That vivid imagery and storytelling is just breathtaking.

The fact he plays Kim and uses multies yet still makes it sound that realistic is unbelievable.

Kim is much more powerful song. I never really liked The Kids all that much anyway. Even though it's a bonus track (I think) I'd say it's the weakest song on MMLP. Keep in mind that The Kids is a good song imo.

Yeah, who needs amazing word choice, storytelling, structure and imagery, right?

The rhyming is hardly 'sub-par' is it? He's having a domestic with his fucking wife, what do you want? 8-syllable multies?

I hate that. When your having an screaming argument and your girl keeps throwing back 6 syllable internal multies by accident.

For the concept, the fact he even manages to rhyme 3 syllables without it sounding stupid is absolutely extraordinary.

I pretty much agree with you, but it is definitely not "just a bunch of screaming". It's a work of art, and is still ahead of its time.

I think I'm just more of a multi w/ good story-telling kinda guy. 'Kim' had unbelievable story-telling (you have to remember it's the prequel to 'Just The Two Of Us'), but the rhyming was very poor just my opinion. I don't even think some parts rhymed in it and:

"Don't you get it bitch, no one can hear you !
Now shut the fuck up and get what's comin to you"

...did he just rhyme 'you' with 'you'?
