He isn't lip syncing though. The playback is loud and his mic is low. You can hear his voice clearly in the third verse. He does it alllllll the time.

Yeah, I agree. Maybe he's lip syncing part of the verses, but in the third verse, I can hear him coming through.

As for the hooks, I think he just isn't very comfortable with his singing voice.
